Lea's POV

The next day, I went downstairs. Mom and Daniil were sitting at the wooden kitchen table talking, Mom had a huge smile on her face. Lyon was sitting on the couch on his phone. He had the tiniest smile on his face but it was still visible.

"Morning Lyon." Lyon's teeny smile disappeared like it never was there, and he turned his head to face me looking unamused.

"Dobroye utro."

"Who were you texting?" I was trying to be at least a little friendly with him.

"Friend." He plainly said.

"What's their name?"

"Alexei."

"Kids! I and Daniil are going for a night out tonight, so we won't be home till late." Mom said from the table. Lyon must have understood every word she said because he rolled his eyes. I sat on the couch next to the blonde and he scooted over near the end of the couch. I noticed the cross necklace again. It seemed more black than last night which was odd.

"Where'd you get that?" I pointed to the necklace.

He flicked my hand away. "Do not touch that." He spoke in the clearest English I've heard from him.

"Oh sorry Lyon!" I blurted out. "What's it made out of?" I asked.

"None of your business." Again, crystal clear English. He must really care about this thing.

"Bus is here guys!" Mom yelled from the kitchen. Without another word, me and Lyon walked out the door. I sat near the middle like usual and Lyon took a seat in the back.

Farther into the bus ride, Jackie sat in her seat across from Lyon. Jackie was one of those social butterflies. Lacey was already flirting with him. Ew.

Lacey was one of those girls who claimed she was rich but just mooched off her daddy's money. Today she was wearing a light blue and white expensive-looking striped dress. Lyon didn't give in to her flirtation like most people. Everyone knew at this point that Lacey was a flirt and everyone learned to ignore her. I'm assuming since there was finally a newbie who was a guy, she saw her chance. Buuut I don't think Lyon likes her flirting with him.

"Would you shut it?" Lyon snapped at Lacey, who clearly thought her plan was working cuz she was hella startled.

"W-what? I was just talking to you, geez." To that, Lyon rolled his eyes. I think Lyon pulled out his phone.

"Who's Alexei?" Lacey asked, with a certain tone in her voice.

"No one." Lyon sounded aggravated.

"Lacey, please. Would you kindly be quiet?" Jackie said.

We finally got to school where Jas, Bianca, and weirdly Harper, were waiting for me. After the thing with Jaspar's dad, I don't think Alex will come back to school. You know, wings on a human aren't exactly normal.

Jaspar looked nicer than normal, no offense to him, but he looked different and I couldn't tell why.

"Did you hear we're getting uniforms?" Harper asked me.

"I think they prevent a person's personality from showing." Bianca replied.

"Damn it, no more hoodies!" Jaspar shoved his hands in his hoodie pockets, I think that the one he was wearing, a light purple one with white and black stripes on the sleeves, was his favorite.

"That's the only thing you complain about Jas?" Harper laughed.

"Of course it is! I love hoodies!" Jaspar exclaimed.
