I can't see anything, and that's what scares me the most.

I don't fear being alone. I like it quite a lot. The peace, quiet, and tranquility. I don't mind being around others either. I like talking to people. I have few friends, but I hold them close.
But being in the dark?
With no real confirmation that you're really, truly alone?
It's terrifying.
You won't be able to see it. There isn't a single sign of it. And you won't even notice it's there.
Unless you listen close enough.
The whispering.
And unless you listen with all your being, you won't even know it's there.
Watching.
Whispering.
Waiting.
