A Mere Detective

Chapter 1.

~3rd Person POV~

Lightning Tears through the dark sky of Mustafu. A loud crack of thunder is heard shortly after. Mustafu, a once nice city that got torn apart by the rise of villains after the emergence of quirks. It is a cesspool of poverty and crime, no one chooses to live there if they have anywhere else to go. Even with heroes like All Might nearby, no one finds it a safe place to live. 

In the Eastern part of town, a large house is surrounded by police cars, taped off. A small room inside of the quarantined building holds three figures, one leaning on the wall looking agitated. One woman lying on the ground blood covering her dead body. A large gash is present on her neck, going from ear to ear. Closer inspection of the body shows a small smile on the victim's face, a callsign of a dangerous killer who has been basking in the chaos that is Mustafu. 

"It's going to be one of those investigations is it not?" A tall and broad man states while lighting a cigarette from under the safety of his umbrella. "That could definitely be a possibility Hadotsuyoi." Replied a short slender man, who was poking around a corpse on the ground. The letters CSI are written on the back of his long dark blue jacket. 

"I fucking knew it. This monster continues to roam the streets looking for prey every night, we just have nothing to pin him with." The detective says, words dripping with disgust. Taking a long pull from his cig, he continues. "I just wish he would slip up, then we would be able to at least put him to justice." The skinny man looks up from the corpse directly at him, "It sounds like you care more about putting him in jail than protecting the citizens and the people of this town." He says slowly with a small hint of venom. They glare at each other and are thinking about what to say next when a huge crash of thunder frightens them. 

Silence follows the two as they go back to their jobs. The door flies open and a young man bursts through the door. Panting he tries to apologize; he catches his breath and looks to the detective, "I am sorry Hado sir, the trains were all closed down for the night, and I had to call a taxi." He manages to get out while choking on his own breath.

"That doesn't matter, your still late by a fucking hour! Get your shit together Midoriya!" The detective roars to his coworker. 

Detective Izuku Midoriya, an 18-year-old with black hair with natural green highlights, with piercing dark green eyes. Izuku is a newbie who just joined the police force 7 months ago. A prodigy throughout the academy but has the major problem of being lazy. He had a reputation in the academy for being a delinquent. Smoking during class, not wearing a uniform, skipping class. But when he graduated, he became a timid closeted asshole.

He is the man who will not insult you to your face, but think about ways to get you back. Oh, and Izuku, he holds grudges, he will not give up. Out of his many flaws, he has a few diamonds in the rough. He is tenacious, and he does not understand the word of surrender. He may be an asshole, but his natural self-sacrificing idiocy will end up making people care for him.

"I'll try harder next time," Izuku says while he looks away, subconsciously reaching for his pack of cigarettes in his blazer pocket. "And what have I told you about smoking at a crime scene?!!" Detective Hadotsuyoi screamed. Izuku gave a quick glare to his superior, he looks at the body on the ground. "Fuck, so it's the Alleyway Slasher again?"

He curses out. "That's what it's looking like, we will know for sure when the M.E. does the autopsy." Spoke Aoi Rokuki, 3rd year CSI. Genius but very rude, narcissist, he lets people know what he is thinking, does not care if it is his superior.
