Oh No

"Okay Marinette, just breathe!" Adrien said.
"I am!" Marinette said, panting. She was gripping her hand on the couch, her nails piecing into it. Adrien tried to calm her down but how on earth does one calm a lady carrying twins having contractions?

"Thirty-nine weeks seems about right? Because I can feel Hugo kicking the living humanity out of me," Marinette said, collapsing on the couch. She was panting and placed her feet on the table.

She was exhausted. She blamed all those aesthetic Instagram pages and models that portrayed pregnancy as something beautiful. She was ready to pull out her children herself if it meant she could rest without breaking her back or suffering random kicks. At this rate she was sure her baby girl was a football player and boy was as an ice-skater. The girl's kicks seemed to more aimed and pointed whereas the boy was constantly gliding. Well, at least that's decided.

"Hugo? I thought we decided on Louis," Adrien said, bringing her pillows for her back.
"If you could take them out, you can name them "Pillow" and "Sleep" for all I care," Marinette said.

Adrien just felt bad and helpless. He's been planning on taking a huge leave to help out Marinette once the twins are born but she insisted he kept working - who knew what the twins needed and when. Sure they were financially sound but he couldn't help getting worried about any kind of large expenses. One baby was enough but the twin surprise wasn't exactly what they planned.

"I wanted three kids and now here I am, trying to survive with two that aren't even born," Marinette said, hand on her belly. "How am I possibly gonna be a good mother?" She was starting tearing up and then wailed. Adrien passed her a chocolate bar and she seemed to calm down a bit. Yes, she was his beloved wife and the lady of his dreams but pregnancy mood swings were a new beast entirely. He was constantly questioning on having a baby so early.

Suddenly Marinette yelped. She brisk walked to the bathroom, just in time, because her water broke.
"It's happening," Marinette said, her voice barely above a whisper.
"It's happening," Adrien said, eyes wide open, "It's happ- IT'S HAPPENING!"
"Oh my god, they're coming. They're coming! The babies..." Marinette looked at Adrien. "I was so angry a minute ago and now...I- can't believe it's happening."
"It is," Adrien said, putting his hand on her belly. He put his hand on her face and smiled, leaning in to kiss her. Their last kiss as a couple...their last kiss before they became parents.
They pulled back and Marinette took a deep breath.
"Alright, time to get this show on the road," she said.
"I'll get the bag," he said.
"I'll get the car keys."

"Adrien Agreste, this ENDS here!" Marinette screamed. She was on the hospital bed, being pushed into the labor room.
"Wh-What exactly ends, baby?" Adrien said, narrowly avoiding her foot.
"TWO KIDS. FORGET. NUMBER. THREE."
The nurses giggled  and Adrien tried to smile. "O-Of course baby. It all ends here."

"This was all you fault," Marinette said, mostly to herself, "I honestly don't know what I was thinking. 'Let's go on a beach trip!' you said. 'I don't mind being stuck here a little longer' you said. 'It'll be fun' you said. WHERE'S THE FUN NOW HUH?"
"There's no fun, I'm so sorry."
"God, why did I even fall for that thirst trap? You, a swimsuit and previous career as a model. God, how did I not see this?"
"To be honest Bug, you and I don't exactly have perfect vision-"
"NOT NOW AGRESTE!"
"Sorry, Bug."
"Oh don't you 'Bug' me. This was all your fault! Stupid cabin, beach shorts and that!" Marinette said, pointing to Adrien crotch. Adrien face and ears turned beet red and he took a deep breath, distancing himself from his manic wife.
The nurses suppressed their laughter and started administering an IV into Marinette's arm.

"My life was crazy enough - born clumsy, saving the world as a teenager, married and kids at 20. I-I'm just so tired," Marinette said softly, once the nurses had left. "I'm so sorry Kitty, I'm sorry I lashed out."
Adrien took Marinette's hand and kissed it. "It's okay," he said, holding her hand, "I'd go crazy if I were you, too."

Just then the doctor walked in and smiled at the couple.
"Hello Mr. and Mrs. Agreste. Your twins are ready to see the world now," he said with a gentle smile.

"Come on Marinette, one more push!" the doctor encouraged.
"I'M-TRYING," Marinette strained, her forehead beaded with sweat and face flushed.
"Anytime now," the doctor said. Marinette's scream collided with a baby's cry.
"Baby number one is here." Marinette gasped as tears filled her eyes. Adrien nearly passed out from happiness as the baby was kept on Marinette's chest. Covered in fluids and crying it's lungs out, the couple looked at their first child. "She's a strong one," the nurse said taking the baby.

Just then Marinette screamed again.
"Alright, Marinette, baby number two is on the way. You need to get him out."
Three wild minutes later, a beautiful (yet, ear piercing) cry blessed their ears.
"And the prince is here," the nurse said laying the baby on Marinette's chest. Another nurse handed Adrien their baby girl and the couple looked at each other.
"Looks like the beach trip was worth it," the nurse said, winking at them.

"You did it," Adrien said, placing a hand on Marinette's head.
"We did it," she said. They looked at their babies and then at each other. Their lips met and Adrien felt content. Their first kiss as parents

"Alright, let's get you cleaned up," the nurses said, taking each baby.
"Alright Marinette, you ready?" the doctor asked.
"Ready for what?" Marinette asked.
"Well there are a few more procedures left. We have to take out the placentas, stitch your-"
"WHAT?"
"Oh no," Adrien said.

"Hello everyone," Marinette said, walking into their living room. After a round of procedures, censorable curses and medications later, Marinette was out of the hospital and back home. Everyone was there - their parents, Alya and Nino, Alix, Ronald and Gina and Luka and Vivica.

"Everyone meet Emmalynne Sabria Agreste and Lucian Tomas Agreste," Adrien said, "Emma and Louie." (A/N - Yes I changed it to Louie - don't come at me. And also, I hate short names like Emma. It needed to be longer.)
Everyone cooed. "Oh they're perfect!" Alya said, coming near Marinette.

"Emelie, Tom and Sabine are in their names, what about me?" Gabriel joked.
"Oh shoo, Gabriel. They've got your last name," Emelie said, gently taking Emma from Marinette.
"And their already wearing your brand," Tom joked.
"Gabriel models already," Sabine said, said taking Louie, "Oh my perfect little boy."
"Look like the twin gene runs in the family," Emelie said, caressing Emma's cheek. "Oh, I've always wanted a girl."
"We," Gabriel corrected. Emelie shot him a look before chuckling.
"Oh Marinetta! I'm a great-grandmother," Gina said, hugging her granddaughter.
"Oh, they're going to get spoiled by me for sure," Roland said.
Adrien felt so happy to see their home filled with warmth and love. He looked at his wife and gave her a peck.
"You just had twins," Alix said, "Another one can wait." With that, the room erupted with laughter.

After a while, everyone started leaving. They all promised to help out whenever they can.
"I'm gonna put them in their cribs," Marinette said. Emelie and Sabine gave the babies to the parents. Soon, the grandparents left as well.

Marinette and Adrien took the babies and laid them down in their respective cribs. The kwamis quickly came out of their hiding spots and looked at their future leaders.
"Oh they're perfect!" Tikki squealed.
"Still not monkeys but they're cute," Xuppu said.
"Welcome future Guardians," Wayzz said, "We are pleased to call you our caretakers."
"They're literally two days old," Orikko said, deadpan.
"Wow, she's a strong one," Fluff said, fluttering over Emma.

Emma stirred, but went back to sleep after a quick peek at all the kwamis.
"She's got your eyes," Marinette said to Adrien.
"He's got yours," Adrien said, looking at Louie.

Marinette felt so full and warm. She was so full of love, how is it possible to love someone so much? And what's better was that she made them. She made them with love, with the person she loves.
"I love them so much already," she said.
"Me too, Bug."
