Sabine was dreaming. She tossed and turned in her bunk aboard the Ghost, muttering in her sleep as she did so. Visions of things she didn't want to see and remember. She saw herself in the Imperial Academy, three years ago, watching helplessly as people whom she knew and loved turned to ash before her eyes. She saw her after being taken away to become an Imperial Cadet. She saw herself running away from the Academy, now in flames because she blew up the weapon. Sabine woke up, gasping and sweating, and also shaking in fear. After a moment, she relaxed. She was in her room, on her bed, on the ship she had called home for two years. She looked at the time. It was midnight, that is, if you call it midnight in the depths of space. But the time was set to Lothal's capital time, and it was in the middle of the night there.
Sighing, she got out of bed and pulled on her boots. Being a Mandalorian, she had a change of clothes, but they all looked the same. She looked at her newly-painted armor and walked out of her room into the common room. She slid into the farther corner of the couch, put her hands on her head, and got lost in thought. She soon was jolted back to the present however, when she heard the door slide open.
Looking up, she expected it to be Hera or Kanan, but it was Ezra."You couldn't sleep either?" She asked. He shook his head. "I had a nightmare about what happened on Malachor. And I'm also kinda nervous about becoming a Jedi," he responded. Sabine gave a small, sad smile. "Not gonna lie, I'm going to miss the crazy, sarcastic, loth-rat that we picked off the streets a year ago." By this time, Ezra was sitting on the couch and playfully punched her. "But something tells me that you'll be a great Jedi." Ezra didn't respond for a moment. "Hera told me that I would get one more mission before I become a Jedi. She said it'd be on Lothal. Want to come?" He asked. Sabine smiled. "Wouldn't miss it. After all, who's going to keep you in your place during the mission?" She teased. Ezra pretended to look offended. "Are you joking? I survived years on my own, and kept myself in my place before I met you all."
Sabine and Ezra talked until morning, and Zeb came out, still half asleep, and looked like a loth-cat made its home in his fur. Ezra leaned over and whispered, "loth-cat loth-rat." Sabine tried to hide a laugh but a small giggle escaped her. Fortunately, Zeb wasn't paying attention to them. "Morning Zeb!" Sabine said in a cheerful voice. Zeb looked over and saw that they were sitting on the couch. "Mornin'. You sound cheerful today Sabine. Ezra, you excited 'bout becoming a Jedi today?" As Ezra explained that he wasn't going to be a Jedi yet, and still had to pass a test, Sabine got a space waffle to eat. After she finished it, she went back into the living area. Hera had gotten up, and was talking to Ezra, who looked very excited. After Hera finished talking to Ezra, she went to Sabine.
"You and Ezra are going to Lothal for his last mission as a Padawan. I will fly you there on the Ghost, and will await here while you two are out. Chopper will go with you. Now go prepare, I have already set course for Lothal."
Half an hour later, Ezra and Sabine got soaked as they stepped on Lothal. It was pouring there. Sabine had a feeling that something wrong was going to happen. Shock and pain not to Ezra, but to her.
Well, what do you guy think? Next chapter coming soon....
I hope you all are healthy and are staying safe. May the Force be with you!
