a few days had passed since whittney had arrived in los angeles. she spent them getting settled in her new environment. she met jack's other three band mates: corbyn, daniel, and jonah, and the boys made her feel quite at home.
however, boys are boys, and whittney began to get agitated by their loud shenanigans and such. so, jack decided it was time to introduce her to dixie and olivia. the older girls were still looking for a new roommate, and whittney was the perfect fit.
shy and responsible, whittney didn't like to throw parties, or even go to them. she was basically all the qualities dixie and olivia were looking for. the two girls were both very studious, not constantly making a racket like jack and his friends.
"jay! hurry up!" jack groaned knocking on the bathroom door for the millionth time. "you take longer than zach when he has a bad hair day."
"jack." she groaned trying to get her mascara perfect. "i'll be out in a minute."
"you said that fifteen minutes ago!" the twenty year old complained further.
"this time i mean it." whittney huffed and decided that her makeup was finally satisfactory. she checked her outfit quickly in the mirror and finally opened the bathroom door.
"jack's in the car." daniel told her after passing her on the stairs. she nodded and thanked him with a small smile.
"what are they like?" whittney stopped as she reached the bottom of the steps and daniel reached the top.
"who? dixie and olivia?" he turned around. whittney nodded. "don't worry whitt, they'll love you, and you'll love them." daniel gave her a reassuring smile. whittney nodded again and went to get in jack's car.
"finally." jack teased as she hopped in the passenger seat.
"jack stop." whittney rolled her eyes and slapped her best friend's chest. she was nervous about meeting jack's two friends, and jack was adding to the anxiety. he shut up after being slapped, and just drove to the coffee shop they were meeting dixie and olivia at.
after a few minutes, jack got bored of being silent, and turned on the radio. he sang along loudly, as whittney began to smile. the friends had gone on long car rides every friday before jack left, screaming the lyrics to every song on the radio. after a moment, whittney joined in as well. the memories rushed back into her mind, and her nerves began to calm.
jack pulled into the parking lot of starbucks and saw dixie and olivia already inside. the girls were ordering their drinks, laughing and talking, as friends do. jack hopped out of the car, but whittney stayed glued to the seat. jack rolled his eyes and u-turned, going over to her window. he knocked on it.
"maybe this isn't a good idea." whittney sighed after rolling the window down. she fixed her jean jacket and white tanktop once again, looking down at her vans. jack rolled his eyes and opened the passenger door. he picked up whittney and carried her in. after thirty seconds of wiggling, she sighed and gave up. "okay, okay, just put me down."
"will you please just be yourself?" jack asked before putting her down. whittney rolled her eyes and nodded. he set her down, and the two walked into starbucks to meet dixie and olivia.
