Asclepius laid in the magical pet store, Magical Menagerie in the snake section. His enclosure was rather large even though he wasn't a very big snake. He was often looked down open when chosen by wizards since everyone wanted the cool patterned ones. Asclepius was a ghostly white with piercing red eyes. Everyone avoided him because of his eyes he hopped a wizard would come along that understood him. One day a young boy walked into the shop. The boy was rather chubby and had someone behind him with towers of bags. Probably a spoilt child he thought. The boy waddled over to the snake section and planted his face flat against the glass staring in on the snakes. The boy came to his enclosure and he tried her best to hide he did not want this boy to adopt him, he wouldn't understand him like he hopped someone would. He hid beneath the log in attempt to hide but the boy did not appreciate this and asked for him to be taken out and shown to him. The worker took him out and a grin flashed on the boys face.

"I'll take him," the boy said with a smug expression. He bought an enclosure kit that was way to small for him, he could stretch out and hit both sides and he wasn't even fully stretched out. He learnt that the boy came from a pure blood family and his whole family was in slytherin so he intended to be in slytherin too. His enclosure was also barely decorated besides a log to hide under and he would have been fine with the enclosure if he atleast got taken out every once and awhile but it seemed as if once he was bought the boy pushed him to the corner of the room and neglected him. If it weren't for his parents reminding him to feed him, he would have never been feed. He had already been there a month and he still hasn't been named by the boy. At hogwarts it wasn't much better there was no room for her small enclosure so he moved him to a Tupperware and stuffed him in a drawer to be forgotten. Eventually one of the other boys in his dorm room noticed the poor snake being neglected and obviously since the boy didn't care they decided on setting the snake free in the forbidden forest.

He would be much happier, plenty of places to hide and animals to hunt so that's what they did.
His life had been much better, he had no limits to how far he could roam and he thought his life was perfect oh how wrong he had been.

One day while adventuring through the dark forest he noticed a group of boys marching her way. He immediately spun on his tail and began to slither away. He didn't even care that he slithered outside the forest. When he turned around he noticed they were directly chasing after him. The boys wore red and gold ties with long bellowing cloaks. He slithered until he was backed up into a corner the boys began throwing rocks at the poor snake and he even began to bleed. He heard them murmur that snakes were evil just like Slytherins as they began to attempt and kill her. After he began to tire he noticed one of the boys holding a large rock above his head and he knew his life was going to end until another boy stepped in and saved him. He threatened the boys and even threw some hexes their way. When they mysterious boy turned she noticed he was wearing the same tie as the other boys meaning he was in gryffindor but why would he stop them. He kneeled down and raised his hand towards the snake. She hissed and backed farther into the corner the boy sighed then hissed, "don't worry I won't harm you I'm a speaker and I know what it feels like to be hurt so if you would allow me I can help you." She was surprised to hear he was a speaker so maybe he would be ok. She hesitantly slithered towards the young boy and when he held his hand out he slithered on top of it. "We'll have to patch you up, we don't want to ruin your beautiful scales," he said. The boy walked up to the large castle he once lived in, he only saw it once open entering but it was much more memorable this time. The boy walked into an abandoned classroom and began to mutter spells towards the snake and within seconds the blood vanished and his scales were fixed. "There you go boy all better," he then paused for a second choosing his next words carefully, "if you would accept I wondered if maybe you wanted to stay with me." He was glad to be rescued from the boy so maybe he wouldn't be that bad maybe he'd be the boy he'd been looking for so he nodded his head. He wondered if maybe he couldn't speak or if he was just nervous he figured it was probably the second one. "How about I name you how about Asclepius it means god of healing, maybe you can be the one to save me from everything after all my life isn't the best." He lowered his voice as he said this.

She gathered up the courage to say, "I dare say we can be each other's healers but I would love the name Asclepius, what's yours?"

"Oh how rude of me my names Harry, Harry Potter."

"Nice to meet your Harry Potter I can tell we're going to be great Friends" Harry and Asclepius sat in the sun all day talking about their backstories to one another. They both realized they were more alike than they lead off. Harry was enjoying his new companion he promised himself he'd give him the best life. They began making their way up gryffindor tower once it had gotten late. Harry was excited to tell his new friends about his new snake but when he opened the door to his dorm he realized that Ron was in his bed snooring. He sighed. He'd just have to tell Ron tomorrow. That night Harry set up a temporary enclosure until he could owl order a new one. He told him it wasn't the best but it was a large Tupperware much larger than the one she previously occupied except it was filled with a log hide and decorated with leaves and sticks giving it a forest vibe and he adored it. He knew he would love staying with Harry and he felt the same way. That night Harry dreamt that Mr. Weasley was being attacked so he went to dumbledoor. After that they were spending Christmas at grimmauld place and everyone had been ignoring him except Asclepius. Even his best friends didn't know about him and it had been days since they talked he just wondered what was wrong
