Don't Let Go || ((Luke x Nick TWDG))

Luke's POV

It was a pretty nice day. The sun was out and warm. It wasn't too hot, though. It was a mild spring day. It was the day me and Nick would be moving in together. We were going to get the last of Nick's things moved out of Pete's. On our way to get everything from Pete's it happened. I was driving my pick up down the road. I smiled at my childhood friend, Nick.

"Hey, Nick. You sure you're good movin' outta Pete's?" I chuckled a little. "You know how you are."

"Shut up Luke," he smiled at me with a huff. He shook his head and looked out the window.

"I'll shut up when we get there," I teased. I reached over and punched him in the shoulder. "We'll be to Pete's soon, man. Don't worry."

Nick smiled over his shoulder at me, "You're a dick."

"You're a dick."

"You're a bigger dick."

"Ehhhh fine," I smirked over at him as we pulled into Pete's drive way. "I guess you win since we're here.

I hoped out the truck, leaving it on. It shouldn't have taken us long to move Nick's things into the back of my truck. It was only a few boxes so I knew with me, him, and Pete it shouldn't have taken us but fifteen minutes. We were getting the last box in when the message came across the radio.

"Attention all citizens: We are entering a state of emergency. Please head for designated evacuation zones. If you are hearing this message you should head to Richmond. That's what... Oh no. Please go to the evac zones... We... Wish you and your loved ones..."

The radio ended with screams and clashing and static before Pete turned it off. I looked at Nick then at Pete. My hands shook. 

"What was that, Uncle Pete?" Nick's eyes widened, looking over at Pete.

"I dunno but I suppose we have to go..." Pete got in the drivers seat. "Get your asses in, boys."

I slammed the truck bed shut as we climbed in the truck, me in the middle, Nick on my right. He looked out the window as we quickly pulled out. I turned and looked at Pete.

"Where are we going?" I asked.

"Richmon'. That's what the radio said. Evac to Richmon' right?" Pete raised an eyebrow. 

I nodded and looked at Nick, "Richmond..."
