Welcome to the new one shots story! I don't think I'll write any smuts.
It will almost always will be in Y/n's POV.

I raised my hunting bow and quiver, ready to pull the trigger. A stag was in front of me, leaning down to eat some grass. I shakily held my breath and was about to shoot.

I clenched my jaw and stared at the stag before gently lowering my bow.

I can't do it.

My stomach growled loudly, spooking the stag. It quickly ran through the trees at top speed and disappeared out of my view.

I got into a sitting position and held my face with my hands, whispering to myself, "Father shall be most mad when I return empty handed."

I sighed and stood up from the ground, gripping the bow in my hand. I made my way to the river and got down on my knees, cupping my hands together and filled them with water.

I took several handfuls and swallowed. The cool water easily went down my throat, making me refreshed. I stood back up and was about to leave when the most beautiful voice echoed from farther up the river.

Entranced, I followed the voice.

Past the river, to a small hill.

There, hiding behind multiple trees, was a very pretty willow tree. Some toadstools surrounded the tree as well. The voice was so clearly coming from the willow.

I gently cleared my throat, making sure not to startle whoever was singing. The singing stopped. I quietly made my way to the front of the willow tree and frowned.

There was no one here.

"Hello?" I gently called and scratched my head in confusion.

I heard a melodic giggle coming from above my head. I lifted my head up and saw the most gorgeous maiden sitting down on one of the branches. She smiled down at me, showing off pearly white teeth.

I observed her.

Her hair was incredibly long, some strands were wrapped around the branches of the willow. Most of the strands covered her body though, for she had no clothing on.

I immediately turned my gaze back on her face, trying my best to remain respectful, "Hi."

"Hello!" She enthusiastically greeted back, waving softly.

I smiled up at her, "Would it be any trouble if I asked for your name?"

"Hmmm," She pondered cutely, jutting her lips, "I don't think it's be smart of me to give my name to a stranger. Especially one who possesses a weapon."

I looked down at my hunting bow and frowned, nodded my head, "Ah right."

I was about to turn away to leave but then stopped and looked back at the girl, "If I return tomorrow without my bow, will you give me a name?"

Another melodic giggle rang out as she replied, "Maybe."

I brightened up and bowed my head at her, "Good day!"

I quickly made my way back home, excited for the next day to start. My mood darkened when I saw the anger and disappointment on my father's face when I came back with empty hands.

"You didn't kill anything?!"

I cowered and slowly shook my head, "My apologies, father."
