The leaves whispered against the ground as they fell, leaving traces of their lives behind them. A black boot crashed to the ground, startling Evelynn as her eyes traced the leaves to their death.
"Eve?"
The owner of the boot crouched down playfully to get within her sights. Azure eyes met amber, and Evelynn sighed to herself. Closing her eyes, she shook her head at the hyper face before her. Akali simply grinned and spun around before crashing through the leaves once again. Evelynn couldn't suppress the small smile that escaped her lips. She'd always had a soft spot for the energetic rapper, though she could never fathom why. Evelynn enjoyed surrounding herself with silence, even when she was out clubbing she felt a sense of calm. In the most drastic situations, she could keep her usual collected demeanour. Not that she didn't enjoy drama. She thrived in it. An arm found its way on top of her shoulder as Evelynn brought her mind back to earth. Ahri rested her chin gently beside Evelynns face, not wanting to set her off.
"You gonna be alright for tonights performance?" The singer spoke, an accent sneaking its way into her words.
"Aren't I always?" Evelynn questioned back, her signature smile returning to her face in an attempt to calm her friend.
Ahri relaxed visibly at the sight of Evelynns gaze, removing her arm from its place on the other girls shoulder.
"Jax is coming." Ahri said happily.
"Saijax?" Kai'Sa bounced up behind them and slid herself into the conversation. "He's so fun! A bit stoic but still a nice guy."
Ahri laughed and shook her head as she covered the lower half of her face. "Yes, that Jax." She smiled at the young dancer as she did a little hop around her and Evelynn, running to catch up with Akali.
"A year now, right?" Evelynn started.
"Hm?" Ahri looked over at her as Kai'Sa ran to catch up with Akali.
"You've been with him for a year now, no? I'm always impressed with you and your relationships." Evelynn stared straight ahead as she spoke. Ahri was grinning mischievously beside her as she prepared her response, "Well, we can't all be like you Evie."
Evelynn broke her stance to tilt her head down at the brighter woman. "What's that supposed to mean?" Her face twisted up a bit as Ahri stuck her tongue out.
"I mean it must be exhausting being with a new guy every other week, even if it's just for sho-" She made a noise similar to that of a dying fox as her side was attacked by Evelynns elbow. The other woman was glaring at her fiercely, though Ahri knew it was only because Evelynn did not appreciate talk relating to emotions. Ahri made a hurt face as she gripped her side and held her free hand up in surrender.
"You asked." She said in defence as Evelynn huffed and returned her gaze in front of her.
"Whatever." She continued walking, bringing her gaze back in front of her.
Akali turned her head quickly back to Kai'Sa as Evelynn began to look in their direction again. The other girl poked her side which startled her out of her light daze.
"Mm y'know it's rude to stare Kali." Kai'Sa was trying her best not to laugh as she made fun of her friend. Akali had been known to zone out often, Kai'Sa assumed it was an ADHD thing.
"Ah screw off Bokkie." Akali glared at her playfully before resuming their normal walking pace.
"You can talk to her duuude." Kai'Sa whispered as Akali sped up their pace and flipped her off.
"Talking to her takes a lot of my brain, and I'm tryna save it for the concert tomorrow." Akali grimaced as they remembered the stage. They loved performing, but pre-show nerves were a big deal for them. Akali stopped and pulled at their cargo pants in an attempt to make herself more comfortable.
"Sivir darling," a voice from behind their head, "his shoe is untied."
A finger was pointed at Akali's shoe as they turned around to Eve's velvet voice. Akali looked down at their shoe and sure enough, the left one was untied, Sivir standing right on top of it as Akali was getting ready to move. Akali couldn't focus on the shoelace. Her thoughts were frozen in time, being preserved in their form. Sivir sighed and knelt down to fix the shoe. Akali stared at Evelynn as her and Ahri walked up to the pair of them.
"Darling?" Evelynn inquired at the stone faced rapper standing before her.
Akali blinked. Evelynn dragged a finger down their face and lifted their chin. Eyes flicked around for a millisecond before the hand was gone and they were walking once again.
"Fuck." Akali groaned, "I was trying to save mental energy but now it's fucking gone Siv."
Sivir rolled her eyes at the hopeless human beside her, the concert would be fine.
