"I'm depressed," I'll say.
"No you're not," my mom will say.
"Yes I am," I'll say. And I'll show her my calls to the suicide lifeline.
"Big deal," she'll say.
I'll show her the articles that outline my symptoms and behaviors.
"Big deal," she'll say.
Then I'll show her my arms.
"Whoa," she'll say. "Big deal."
