Hey everyone, I hope you enjoyed the last part and are ready to read this next part.
________
I clench my fists as adrenaline flows through me, begging to be released. I push my kidnapper's body out onto the road and press my foot to the accelerator. I surge forwards, the car completely out of control and almost driving all by itself. I slam on the brakes and almost crash into the giant oak tree.
"Shit!"
I reverse and fortunately keep my hands on the steering wheel as the car zooms along the highway.
I search for any glimpse of my mysterious 'saviour' but am only greeted with colourless shrubs and bushes that only seem to be working against me.
Cars seem to stop zooming past and the trees seem to focus.
"There!!"
I abruptly turn the steering wheel straight towards the figure that lurks just behind a thick mass of brambles.
Suddenly, the car skids and screeches, soon spinning straight into a bush of deadly thorns.
No time to think.
I brace myself for impact and hold my breath.
Screechh!! Bang!!!!
~
It seems I have been asleep forever as I manage force open my eyelids and take a look at what had happened.
Only darkness.
I panic and try to open the car door.
"Ahhh!" I scream.
I look down to find the steering wheel pressing into my right leg.
Blood everywhere.
Dried blood lay in the deep wound that seemed to cut my leg in half. I try and ignore the pain but it only fights back, overwhelming my senses.
I push open the car door and manage to drag myself out onto the tarmac.
I lay there for some time, pleading, wishing for this to all be over with. I close my eyes and dream of my past relationship and the wide grin I had been so used to. That was the worst break-up I had ever experienced. I constantly wondered what I had done wrong, what crime I had committed to deserve such a cruel punishment. The answer was still buried deep within me. I had fought to keep it that way but in these fleeting moments of a kind of peace, it all came rushing back.
Before I knew it, tears began streaming down my face, relieved to have finally being released. I smiled weakly at my own vulnerability.
*beep beep*
I look up to find two bright lights glaring at me. I scramble to get up but only fail miserably. The dark silhouette of a fairly tall figure began slowly walking towards me. In defeat, I lift my arm and cover it over my face, ready for my fate.
"Watcha doin lying there like that. At this rate a bloody car will finish you off."
Surprised, I uncover my eyes and breathe a sigh of relief as two kind and gentle eyes greet me.
"Ahahaha. Yes. I am fully aware of the state I am in." I manage to laugh weakly.
"Do ya wanna lift."
"Yes. That would be great."I hold my hand up and he yanks me onto my feet. I bite back the pain.
"So what happened eh. Ya not concentrating on the road... or maybe there was something else you were thinking about." He tilts his head and looks at me knowingly."
"Haha, no. Even though it's none of your beeswax (bbmching) I most certainly was not thinking what you think I was thinking. That wouldn't even have been on my mind while driving."
"Well, worth a try. What were you thinking about."
"Oh just stuff."
"Stuff eh."
"Haha yeah." I break eye contact and rub the back of my head awkwardly."
"Well anyways, as I almost ran you over, the least I can do is give you a lift home."
>>>
"If you insist then, be my guest." I gesture to his sleek black Porsche that seemed to glint in the sunlight and suddenly felt glad I had been almost killed by this kind man.""Haha, yes she is a beauty isn't she. *whispers* but not always what she seems, amoung other things."
"Sorry I didnt catch that, what did you say?"
"Oh nothing, just that I am very lucky to have er."
He smiles at me and I notice the slight glint of madness in his eyes. It quickly fades away and I push it out of my mind.
~
In the back of the car, I feel, yet again, the cold air slap my rosy red cheeks. I try to push the crash out of my mind but the pain of my right leg seems to want me to remember.
I refused to sit in the front seat as even a mad man would know not to accept that kind of offer from a complete stranger, but this man seems sort of familiar, in a strange way.
My vision drifted to the sweaty marks on the window. I lean in to take a closer look and scratch at what looks like dried blood.
I manage to decipher two out of the four letters spelled out. H and L. I wonder what that could mean.
I look to the front again and find two not so kind eyes staring at me on the middle mirror. They quickly concentrate back on the road but I cant get these signs of danger out of my head. I want to think that I am completely safe with this man but everything seems to point in the same direction.
Looking back at the window, the other two letters appear clear as day.
H E L P
Alarm bells ring in my head and I find the madness is back in those eyes glaring at me, accompanied by a psychotic smirk.
I immediately reach for the door handle, only to find it locked shut.
My next escape route is the sun roof which seemed to be fully open earlier but is now covered over.
How could I have been so stupid!!!???
The last available option screams at me. I look down at my leg, then at the psycho driving the car, then back at my leg again. No choice! I unbuckle the seatbelt and hurl it against the window.
After a few swings, it shatters and I manoeuvre myself through, scraping my stomach on the sharp shards of glass.I look down at the road, the pain of my leg seems to be unbearable.
I take a deep breath and force myself to jump...
