Part 2

Lucian stopped at a border of flowers, on the other side of them laid a large field of short grass, the trees didn't even dare pass the flower fence, lighting up the field in the morning sun glow. The path he was walking on still continuing on but curved off to the side, leading to a rather modest house with a large array of plants climbing up the sides. Nothing particularly stood out to Lucian about the house, his only interest was the smoke that rose out of the chimney. Turning back to his dragon, about to attempt another flower, but snapped his jaw shut at the dumbfounded glare from the blond, giving a small warble to him before he listened to the hand signal given.

Lucian's attention was pulled back to the meadow, a particular glow of red hair off to the side of the house had caught his eye. He took a daring a step over the flower line to get a better look. He concluded the person was female, her long, dark green cloak hiding most other features, but she was rather tall. Her eyes snapped to him, causing her to cautiously walk up to him. Although, she walked too still to actually be called walking, instead he thought it more like floating. Her ocean blue gaze held a sternness in them, studying the blond that ventured to her home.

"I take it you're the Midnight Witch?" Lucian cooed, now able to see exactly how tall the female was. Surpassing him by a head, and yet, he didn't feel intimidated in the slightest. A slow nod moved the lady's head.

"And who may you be? Must be someone either very brave or very stupid to visit my home" She crooned, softening her eyes and lifting her nose. A soft chortle left Lucian, glancing down at the flowers he gathered for some unknown reason. Bowing his head and holding up the plants to the girl.

"I hope you didn't come all this way to attempt to woo me" She sang, but still taking the flowers none the less, eyeing the blue iris and reserving it for him.

"Oh, I wouldn't dare such an act, but I'm hoping the gesture is well appreciated" He cooed in turn, straightening his back and holding a coy expression. The Witch mirrored his smile and nodded.

"You still didn't give me your name" She spoke, an airy tone to her voice. The blond moved his head in a long nod, bowing it with a breathy laugh.

"Lucian" He curtly answered.

"And what brings you to my home?"

"My friends and I are fleeing a group of some rather nasty bounty hunters" He sang, straightening himself out again. The Witch nodded and hummed, floating around him and down a different path, gesturing for him to follow.

"Is that so, where are your friends now?" She purred.

"Around, I'm sure" The blond crooned, rolling his attention back down the path he came from.

"I see you care deeply for them" Her tone stooped into sarcasm, but still held an airy note to it. The blond let an amused smile pull at his lips, and nodded in mock agreement.

"Oh of course"

The two wandered down the new path, the red head continue to ask questions of Lucian and his friends. But, occasionally veered off into other topics.

"So, you speak of bounty hunters? What have you done to cause such a hullabaloo" She asked, a tilted head and a small smile painted on her face, letting Lucian breathe out another laugh.

"Angered a particularly treacherous, but powerful King" He returned, her eyebrow rose in curiosity, but her interest was pulled to the sky where a group of rider bound Singetails glided in.

"The bounty hunters you're fleeing I take?" Lucian nodded in response, watching as they circled around.

"Let me" She sang, her hand reaching out to a particularly shadowy part of the forest.
