Death
It takes us by surprise,
and those words feel like lies.
The feeling is overwhelming,
knowing the pain is never ending.
Their mark will forever be there.
They're gone,
and you feel life's unfair.
You should've given them more love and care.
Then you think of the words you could've said,
tears you wouldn't have shed,
other ways you could've cared,
love you could've shared,
Ideas you could've merged.
You start thinking about what you should've done,
things that would've made their lives fun.
If only you could've predicted the day,
the day they would go away.
You would've made every second count.
Will the pain ever go away?
All these caused by one thing,
that word that makes our heart sting.
DEATH.
