Milo woke up in a cold sweat, he had just had a nightmare, and was now shuddering violently. But Milo didn't cry, or yell, he did what he did every day, he smiled. Milo dragged himself out of his bed and looked out his window. It was sunny already, and he could see colorful birds chirping outside his window. Milo grinned and ran to his backpack. He started packing everything he needed for the day ; A balloon, an anchor, a fishing rod, a stuffed toy, rope, a knife in case he needed to cut something, and some other tools. He was finally packed for another exciting day. Milo went downstairs and sat at the table, that surprisingly was still intact. Then suddenly, the table collapsed and Milo backed away. He muttered " Spoke too soon". Milo sighed as his mother walked in, followed by his father and Sara. They all chorused " Morning Milo". Milo greeted back " Morning guys". His mother smiled and handed everyone some muesli bars " Ran out of cereal" she says. " I've gotta go early, bye kids". Milo waved and then headed to school, on his usual catastrophic route. But today wasn't as fun as the other days, it seemed so boring and dull. As Milo was walking to school, he met Zach on the way. Zack smiled and said " Sup Milo". Milo grinned, trying not to frown, and replied " Hey Zach". Zach frowned " You don't seem very happy today!". Milo shrugged " We have our days". He pauses and looks around, and a distant explosion happened in the air, making Milo laugh softly " There we go". They both share a laugh and continue walking past several murphy's laws accidents. Just as they walked in the gate, they met Melissa. Melissa waved " Hey Milo, Zach". She smiles and hugs them both, before they all walk in the school. On the way in, several kids shout hurtful words at Milo. Like " Menace!". " Jinx!". " Deserves to be in a cage!". " Walking diaster!". Milo tries not to let it get to him, but it seems so true. Melissa grabbed his shoulder gently and asked " Milo, are you okay?". Milo nodded and said " I'll meet you guys in class". He looked so sad. Zach looked confused and concerned but agreed " Ok". Milo looked around, making sure no one saw him, and went to the closet. He shut the door, looked around and then fell to the floor, finally allowing tears to freely fall down his face. It hurt, it hurt more than anything he could imagine.
