Stiles was hunting through the chest of drawers, looking for a clean t-shirt for his daughter, Allison. She was 9 years old and still couldn't eat a full meal without making a mess and getting it all over her clothes. He guessed she had inherited his clumsiness, as she couldn't have gotten it from Lydia, she had more precision than anyone Stiles knew.

He finally found a clean shirt, after searching through 3 filled drawers, which seemed to only contain jeans and leggings. It was pink with a unicorn in the middle, sleeves just covering her elbows. Stiles brought it over to the bed, where Allison was waiting patiently.

"I hate this shirt daddy!" Allison moaned, crossing her arms over her bare chest and pouting.

"That's not very nice, this is a beautiful unicorn!" Stiles exclaimed, showing her the unicorn. Allison tilted her head to the side slightly and unfolded her arms, letting them drop to her sides. Stiles smiled and popped the shirt over her head.

"Daddy, what's a soul mate?" She asked curiously as she pulled her arms through the holes.

"A soul mate? Where did you hear that sweetie?" Stiles asked, ironing out the creases with his hands.

"Jacob was saying in the playground today that he heard his mommy say it but he didn't know what it meant."

"Well sweetie, a soul mate is like a best friend but more. It's the one person in the world that knows you better than anyone. A soul mate is the one who makes you a better person, well actually they don't make you a better person; you do that yourself, because they inspire you. A soul mate is someone who you can carry with you forever. A soul mate is the one person who knew you and accepted you, and believed in you before no one else did, or when no one else would. And no matter what happens you will always love them. Nothing can ever change that.* Stiles explained, looking into Allison's eyes intently. He had a soul mate.

"Are you and mommy soul mates?" Allison asked, putting her hands on Stiles knees.

"Mommy is my soul mate an...." Stiles began but was cut off when Lydia walked through the door, heels clicking against the floor.

"And daddy is my soul mate." Lydia said, smiling, as she took a seat beside Stiles, taking his hand in hers. Stiles looked to her and smiled.

"So yeah, I guess we are. And one day sweetie you will have a soul mate." Stiles said, looking back towards his daughter.

"Boys suck, they smell and are immature." Allison stated before turning around and running off to her dolls. Stiles and Lydia laughed.

"Did you hear all of that?" Stiles asked.

"Every word. It was beautiful." Lydia replied before leaning in and softly kissing him. Stiles put his hand on the back of her head, over her strawberry blonde curls. He pulled her on his lap and put his forehead against hers.

"I love you." He whispered.

"And I love you." Lydia returned, wrapping her arms around him tightly.
