Five months later..
ASMAU

Alhamdulillah, everything has been going so well. Abubakar and I are strengthening our relationship. It's the little things he does that constantly bring a smile to my face, and with each passing day my love for him deepens. Regarding Iman, we haven't seen much of her in the past few months. The twins have now reached the age of one and have started taking their first steps, which brings about more barna; mischief from them.

I'm getting ready to take some food to Abubakar. He had an urgent meeting at the office today and didn't get a chance to eat his breakfast, so I decided to take lunch to him.

"Mummy, I'm going to kill these kids!" Safeeya stormed into the room, clearly upset.

"What happened?" I gasped, concerned.

"Look at what Noorie and Afeena did to my English notebook," she fumed, showing me the damage. "I'm soooo going to kill them! Look at how they colored it with their rubbish," she added.

"Call Noorie for me," I ordered, and Safeeya left the room.

Moments later, they both came back in.

"Mummy, I'm here," Noorie said, looking guilty.

"Noorie, why did you do that to your sister's book?"

"Mummy, I saw Afeena with the book, and I thought it was useless, so I drew on it," she confessed.

"Fatima Abubakar, if you know what's good for you, you better tell the truth. Didn't you check the name of the book? You knew it was my notebook, right?" Feeyah expressed her frustration.

"Wallahi, Ya Feeyah, I didn't check the name, so stop yelling at me. Next time, you won't be keeping your book anywhere that Afeena can find it and use it," Noorie retorted.

"Wallahi, you are sooo annoying. Mummy, talk to her," Safeeya said, clearly frustrated.

"Wait Feeyah, since you're writing your junior WAEC exams soon, I don't think the note is that important anymore. You're just going to read the note, right? Or is the teacher going to mark it?" I asked.

"No, she's not going to mark the note, but Mummy, I want my notes to be clean and clear even when I'm reading them," she explained.

"Please be patient, since you're only reading it. And Noorie, don't ever write on your siblings' notes again," I warned her.

"Okay, In shaa Allah," Noorie replied before leaving the room.

"But Mummy, this is so unfair," Feeyah protested.

"Ya Allah, Feeyah, please, that's enough. Stop complaining," I sighed.

"Where are you going?" She asked.

"I'm taking your Dad's lunch to him in the office."

"I want to follow you,". She said. I shook my head negatively.

"You should stay at home. I won't take long," I assured her.

"But seriously, I'm going to deal with these kids if they try any nonsense with me," she said as she walked away.

"Yaya Safeeya don't bully your siblings!" I shouted after her before bursting into laughter. "Yaran nan," I muttered, shaking my head. I adjusted my veil, picked up my handbag, and headed downstairs.

"Mamaa," Afeen said in his little voice, and I picked him up.

"My Daddy," I kissed him on his cheek.

"Mama, should I wear my shoes so I can follow you?" Noorie asked with a pout.
