"Class dismissed." Saad ng IT instuctor namin, it was Programming 3 subject which it speaks itself about programming. I don't really love anything related to technology, but I was forced to take this course dahil may munting internet shop kami sa bahay and papa said, it will be benefical course than crappy-fashion-design course. Anong magagawa ko? We don't have the means to take me to some prestigious schools in other cities, and this school is the best in our town which we can afford. I guess, fashion designing won't feed me in the future, so I was told.
"Let's go, meryenda muna tayo." Aniya ni Joanne sabay kuha ng bag. I look at my watch and sad it's 7:35 and I was kind of hungry just to eat meryenda.
"Dinner na lang kaya?" I ask her, she hesitated. So I offer na lilibre ko siya.
"Ano ka ba, palagi mo na lang akong nililibre." I just laugh at her, and ignore her remarks at agad siyang hinila palabas ng department. The cold breeze hits my frail arm, and a shiver a bit. September na pala, can't believe we survive the first semester of our first year.
"Pancit canton po ate, tsaka apat na kanin at isang litro ng coke po." It was a perfect dinner cause I know, I might be bored watching them practice. We enjoyed the dinner, and agad na pumasok papuntang gilid ng gym. I put our bags in the bleachers, and watch some of our classmates arriving.
"Sana sumali kana lang, Eury." Claire proclaimed. Kibit balikat ko siyang sinagot.
"Alam mo naman di ako marunong sumayaw, and I don't want to go yet so sinamahan ko si Joanne." While watching joanne get her extra shirt para magbihis sa cr ng gym.
"Samahan mo ko, Eury." Saad ni Joanne, and I oblige.
Pabalik namin ay halos kumpleto na ang lahat, so Joanne joined the crowd while I sit silently on the bleachers watching them. Nakita ko ang ibang lalaki ng kabilang set na sumama sa practice, a week from now from now the program will start. It was kind of nice to see them na sumama sa mga babae while our boys seems to have interest with internet games than this.
I was really focus on my phone that I forgot that they already finish practicing. Kaya agad kong kinuha ang mga bag namin ni Joanne at binigay sakanya ang tubig.
"10:45 na pala, ang bilis ng oras." Sabi ni Joanne, so I check my phone to confirm it.
"Oo nga eh, tara? Uwi na tayo?" Tumango siya at tinawag ang kakilala niya sa kabilang section para sumama samin papauwi. It's almost midnight, and I know it's kind of dangerous to go home just to two of us but I never expect that marami palang sasabay samin sa i-isang direction.
"Ba't ang tahimik mo?" Napalingon ako sa gilid ng may nagtanong. He's from the other set, and maybe sasabay samin pauwi. Our school is not located on a high way, kaya kailangan naming maglakad papuntang highway para makasakay ng tricyle. The school's terminal was already empty dahil malapit ng dis-oras ng gabi.
I shrug my shoulder, and glance to Joanne who happily talk with her old classmate in high school. "Wala naman akong sasabihin eh."
"Talaga? Or baka nahihiya ka lang?" Tanong niya.
Tumango ako. " Siguro..." As I focus walking in front. He tried to open another topic but I walk fast para maiwan siya. I was not in the mood to talk, I was tired and badly needed to sleep. And unfortunately, we sit beside each other.
"Taga san ka ba?"
I sighed and told him my address, luckily I'm the first one to be drop off so our conversation was short.
"Salamat." Saad ko, at agad na bumaba ng tricycle. I bid my goodbyes with Joanne and di na nilingon ang katabi ko at agad na dumiretso papasok ng bahay.
