Besties! Right?

Monday morning the team waited outside the school for the bus to come.

'Good morning' said yamaguci waving as him and tsukishima approached the others.

'Good morning' beamed sugawara and ruffled yamaguci's hair. Tsukkishima was about to say something about it but Yamaguci hit him with his elbow saying 'hey let's go say hi to the other first years' pointing at hinata and kageyama sitting on the sidewalk eating their breakfast.

'Morning' said tsukkishima.

'Gwud mownin' said hinata with his mouth full of rice.

'Hey have you done the history homework' asked Yamaguchi.

'What?! We had homework??'

'Stupid hinata!' Shouted kageyama hitting the back of his head.

'Eeek'
'Can we do them together?'

'No way tangerine'

'Shut up salty we don't even need you he talked to Yamaguchi' kageyama snapped.

'Hey isn't the history teacher super annoying' said Yamaguchi trying to change the subject.

'Yeah right ever since his wife left him he became so moody' hinata joined him as yamaguchi giggled

They proceeded to gossip about the other teachers as the bus finally arrived.

'Hey yamaguchi can I sit next to you?' Said hinata.

'Hell no' said tsukkishima grabbing yamaguchi's wrist and leading him to sit together.

'Wtf I thought we were sitting together'

'Why would I want to sit next to you king' he said. In fact he really wanted to sit with him but thought that the other wouldn't want to.

'Whatever dumbass I don't want to sit next to you either' he lied.

After they realized that all the others were already paired up, kageyama let a 'tch' as hinata sat next to him.

'Hey I don't want to be here either'

'I don't care'

They sat there awkwardly each facing the other way trying not to touch each other when the bus turned to much to the left or right.

Kageyama really wanted to make up with him but didn't know how to. He thought about saying something about tsukkishima's stupid dino fetish but never got to only interacting with him on the matches that they lost.

Finally he got a chance to talk to him when Hinata walked into the bathroom when he was washing his hands.

'Umm.. have you seen what tsukkishima is wearing?' Hinata tried to start a conversation.

'Haha yeah sure he looks like a five year old' he laughed 'common let's go eat something'

'Sure'

And with that they were friends again. Probably. Kageyama actually didn't know if they really were friends before. What is his relationship with hinata anyway? What does he wants it to be?

Those questions kept him up this night as everyone was probably already asleep. Or so he taught.

Hinata actually left at home his sick mother alone with his younger sister. And the anxiety that constipated him throughout the day wouldn't let him sleep.

'Kageyama are you asleep?' Hinata suddenly whispered when he was done overthinking.

'No' he turned to him 'why aren't you?'

'Oh I'm just... I have a lot on my mind... volleyball you know...'

'Umm yeah same'

After a few seconds of awkward silence an idea came to kageyama's mind.

'Hey I have an idea' he said getting up 'let's go'

'What where are we going kageyama?' Said hinata following him obediently.

'You'll see' he said as he lead them outside the building to a small hill and laid there. Hinata looked down at him in confusion.

'Come on get down here'

Hinata just did as he said and immediately realized the beauty of the star-fulled sky above him.

'Wow this... this view is just.... amazing' Hinata sighed.

'Yeah it really is...' kageyama whispered turning to the orange head boy gazing at the stars reflecting in his eyes.

Hinata turned to him as well and slowly both of them looked down at each other's lips. They knew what they wanted and felt anticipation yet also fear of what is to come.

'Hinata! Kageyama! Is that you guys?!' They suddenly heard sugawara's voice from above.

Hinata immediately sat up and said 'I think we should go'.
