Previously:

"And I saw the whole thing till you fell into that ditch." He said and take them back to Goodwin's company. Then he took Vilo to her room. "I can walk now..." Vilo said trying to get down but Jack wouldn't let her go.

"I doubt that." He said.

~Now~

"What? I can..." Vilo said but even she didn't believe herself. "You've been acting strange. What did Goodwin tell you?" Jack asked stopping in his tracks looking into her eyes. "Nothing really just said that it won't be easy stay here. But it's still safer was all he said." She lied.

But this time she didn't even look at him. "It's alright, Vilo. Just tell me. You're acting like you don't want to be around me." Jack sounds hurt. 'Why isn't she opening up to me? I have to know what Goodwin told her more like threaten her by the looks of it.'

Jack thought. "I don't want to, it's just, it's hard to explain." Vilo said innocently. Jack sighs and began to walk to his room. When they walked in he sat in his bed. "J-Jack this isn't my room." Vilo said.

"It's alright. I took you to my room so I can clean you up. You're injured badly and it needs to be fixed up." Jack said starting to fix up her leg. He pours some alcohol on and Vilo hissed.

'Shes worried about something... If I knew what it was then I would do something to comfort her. But who sent those men after Vilo? She's too innocent to hurt others or even think of it.' Jack thought deeply not noticing that he pulled too tight on her bandages.

Vilo yelps in pain making Jack snap back into reality. "Sorry..." He said loosening the bandages for her leg. "Mr. Jack? What are you doing with Miss. Vilo?" Goodwin demanded.

Vilo got up but lost her balance luckily Jack caught her. But she walks to Goodwin. "I found her injured so I was fixing her up." Jack said then he saw tears coming down Vilo's face. "Well you could have taken her to Mina. I bet she's still up." Goodwin said as he shot a look at Vilo.

'She disobeyed my orders! I'm must try something else to keep them away from each other.' he thought. Vilo bit her lip trying not to sob or cry in front of Jack.
'What is this emotion that I'm feeling?' She thought.

"What did you tell?!" Jack barked. "What?" Goodwin asked. "What did you tell Vilo? Tell me!" Jack growls. "Jack please it's not what you think! I'm just missing home that's it." Vilo lied again.

"Quiet lying, Vilo! You're hiding something that Goodwin told- no commanded you to do and I'm going to find out!" Jack said glaring at Goodwin. "Jack..." Vilo said.

"If you must know. I can't have the two of you being close to each other. I can't afford to have you Jack to be slowed down by a silly girl." Goodwin said coldly.

"And you think that threatening her is going to make me feel better well it's not! And Vilo isn't a silly girl! She braver then you'll ever be!" Jack yells. "Let's go Miss. Vilo." Goodwin grabs her arm and starts to drag her out.

"You don't ever touch her!" Jack rips Goodwin's hand away from Vilo. "You can leave without her." He growls as he held Vilo close to him. "I guess I'm too late." Goodwin said and left.

"Why didn't you tell me?" He whispered in Vilo's ear. She let a few tears run down her cheeks. "I wanted to but I was scared! I didn't know if he would hurt me or something." She said. 'At least I think I'm scared....Argh! Why can't I have emotions like everyone else?' Vilo thought as Jack wipes her tears away.

Jack lefts her chins towards his face. "It's alright now. I'll protect you. Goodwin won't ever get near you." His eyes were soft and holds her tighter. Vilo rest her head on his chest.

"Let's get some sleep. It's been a long day for you." Jack said helping Vilo to his bedroom. "I'll sleep on the couch so if you need just call for me." Jack said as he sat her down on his bed.

"Thank you Jack." Vilo said and went to sleep. Jack went to the couch and won't stop thinking about Vilo. 'She's fine now, Jack. Just forget about today. She'll just shut you out again.' Jack told himself in his head then fell asleep.

(Dream)

"Please stop! I didn't do this!" Vilo yells as her father slaps her. "You liar! Do you think I'm a fool?!" Father growls. "No father! Please they took me! They helped me be stronger to protect-"

"To protect what?! The monsters you feed. If a signer's dragon got ahold of you then you could die! Which this world would be fine without!" Father yells.

Vilo turns around and sees Jack looking at her coldly. "Jack I'm scared!" She said crying in his chest. "You fool!" Jack rips her off of him and glares at her. "If I knew you were so dangerous I won't have saved you! Actually thinking about it I didn't even care what would of happened to you anyway."

"Jack w-what are you saying?" Vilo asked fear consuming her. "You're a freak and you should be destroyed!" Jack said as a dragon that was black and dark red dragon appeared. Vilo was frozen in fear.

"Now attack!" Jack commanded and the dragon obeyed aiming at Vilo. Vilo screams as it came closer. Then everything was bright.

(Dream ends)

When Vilo woke up she screams waking Jack up. She curls into a ball and starts to cry. Jack bust through the bedroom door and ran to Vilo.

"What's wrong?! What happen, Vilo?" He asked. He rubbed her back to calm her down. "I'm......s-scared Jack!" Vilo sobbed. "It's ok, Vilo. It was only a nightmare and I'm here for you." He said.

"But I didn't! But I didn't!" Vilo sobs. "Vilo..." Jack hugs Vilo to comfort her. She cries on his shoulders and had a grip on the back of his shirt. "I'm scared, Jack." She cries.

"What are you scared of?" Jack asked. "That you'll find me as a freak and you were going to destroy me! Then my father wanting me to be dead! And....And-" She sobs.

"Shhh...It's ok, shhh. It was just a nightmare. Just a nightmare." Jack said rubbing her back some more. 'Goodwin has threatened her so badly that she is getting nightmares of people shunning her for being a feeder to duel monsters.' Jack told himself in his head.

"Jack?" Vilo asked as she calmed down. "Yes?" He replied. "You're not going to destroy me...are you?" She asked as she looks at me. "I don't want to think about that." He pulls her back into a hug.

"One more thing...... Can you sleep with me tonight?" She asked. Jack nods and says, "I will." Then he crawled into bed with her and he waited till she was fully asleep then Jack fell asleep as well.
