Randy didn't sleep that night. I could tell, because I looked over at him and he was wide awake. I don't blame him. I had told him earlier today that I was going to get married to him. He seemed tense. I look over at the sundial.

"Hey, Randy, wake up," I say, shaking him awake. I didn't need to, though. He was still awake.

"Yeah?" He asked. I jump out of bed.

"Follow me. And put these on." I handed him wings that I made out of twigs, leaves, and magic.

"What is it?" He asks. I shake my head. Poor modern human.

"Wings. We have no time to waste. Sunrise is coming soon, and I am not going to waste time walking." He slips on the gear.

"Where are we going?" Randy questions.

"The beach. HURRY UP!" I say, pushing him out the door.

"You're teaching me how to fly?" He exclaims. I shush him.

"You'll love it, you'll see." We scurry outside.

"Alright. Flying is simple. 1. gain thrust. 2. use your muscles to flap. 3. think happy thoughts. 4. JUMP." He seemed dazed. Probably because it was 4 in the morning. He got ready.

"Watch me." I demonstrate it to him. He watches in awe.

"Your wings are magic, so they'll automatically fly for you, but you still need to do lift off procedures." He gets in formation. Soon, he is in the air with me, freaking out.

"OH MY GOSH I'M FLYING! MARIA I'M FLYING!" He said, dancing in the sky. I giggled. This was just like when we were kids.

"C'mon! Time to test your skills!" I say, blasting off. He was right behind me. I look back. Where was he? I look down.

"Ha! I'm ahead!" He laughs. I squint and burst forward. I was ahead. I look back and run into a tree. He flings forward. I flap in confusion, but then get my balance back, and race him again. We were near the spot. We were side by side. Almost there. Suddenly, he dives down. I flap up. I could see him through the clouds. He was looking for me. Then I dive down with a ton of force, and I crash into him. We tumble onto fluffy sand. We get up and laugh like crazy. We throw sand at each other. It felt great to have him around again. We sit down and look out into the horizon.

"Look! Sunrise!" We both stand up. Flashes of colors reflect on the ocean's surface. I look at Randy. He looked so handsome. I wanted to kiss him. I felt my cheeks get red hot.

"Hey, Maria? Why did you bring me here?" He asks. Was he closer to me?

"This is where my parents met. Right here. At sunset." I look deep into his blue eyes. He smiles. I blush.

"And, I, uh, just thought that this was a good place to see the sunset, and-" He grabs my waist. I look up. He was pulling in for a kiss. I wrap my hands around him. And his lips pressed mine. We stayed like that for a while. Then we pull away.

"It has been so long since I've kissed you," He said to me. I smile. He does to. Then it fades.

"Oh, no." He said.

"What?"

"Oh, no. Oh, no. Maria, I have to tell you something," I look at him worried.

"I-I'm engaged." Shock fills my face. I fell to the ground. Thunder rolled in, along with lightning. The clouds were grey.

"WHAT IS HAPPENING?" He yelled. I look up.

"If one of royalty kisses one of true love, then they shall say together," I was reciting lines from my enchantment book.
"If one of royalty kisses one of true love, and one is soon to be, then royalty is cursed to die in three days. Only one of the true love must sacrifice themselves for her, to break the curse." Then everything went black.
