"Dad, I'm home." I yelled as I slam the front door shut. I threw my bag on the sofa, exhausted from working all morning. I let out a loud sigh and realized that I still haven't got any response.
"Dad?" I called out once again, checking if he was home this time. Still no response, I walked towards the living room where my dad always was when I came back from work. I was only met by an empty room.
I ran upstairs and stood in front of Louis' room, scanning the closed door. "Louis are you there?" I decided to ask before coming in. No response. I slowly opened the door and realized he wasn't in his own room.
No one's home.
I go to my room to undress my uniform and make myself comfortable. I threw on a loose long sleeved thin white shirt and some black shorts. I take off my multiple earrings and put my hair on a ponytail.
I went to the bathroom to take off my makeup and give my face a proper wash so there was no makeup residue. I take a look at the mirror, despising my reflection. At least I felt fresh now.
I went downstairs again to go to the kitchen so I could prepare something to eat, when I find a piece of paper sitting on the kitchen table. I picked it up and began to read it.
"Hi Pheebs! Your brother and I went out to talk about some stuff involving his job. Don't worry about where we are, we'll be home soon.
Louis is having a hard time right now with work and we would like you to talk to Laura about it. She might want to hang out with Louis and he's not available right now.
Love,
Your father."I quickly read in a mumble. I take the note and throw it inside the right pocket of my shorts and let out a quiet sigh. At least I've got the whole house for me today, no one to bother me.
I started to make a milkshake since that's all I could do right now. I added a banana, some peanut butter and milk into the blender and a few seconds later it was already done.
I was now sat at the kitchen table, staring at literally nowhere while taking a few sips of my milkshake. I was not in the mood of using my phone for entertainment right now, in fact, I didn't know what to use to entertain me.
I stared at the walls, at the door, at the furniture, the table, the counter, my hands, everything but at my phone. People assume I'm a phone addict which really pisses me off.
I sat on the chair, drinking my drink and waiting for either my brother or my father open that door. I didn't know what else to do. Suddenly, my phone receives a new message from a unknown number.
"Hi, is this Phoebe?" I read out loud in a quieter tone. Didn't really bother me at first, it's just a simple greeting right? However, no one really sends me messages anymore. Only Laura, Louis and my dad texted me bro they seem to be busy now.
