The Trial of Patience

The fight against Yolanda became harsher by the minute, every attack just seemed to make Yolanda stronger. "Go towards the fountain, mom!" Daisy shouted, "I'll keep Yolanda busy!"

--"Mija, I'm not leaving you here!" Mrs. Eaglenest shouted. "Just go!" Daisy cried, "I can handle this on my own!"

Instead of heading further into the sanctuary, Mrs. Eaglenest returned outside. "What the hell?!" Daisy thought as she saw her run back out. "Typical," Yolanda laughed, "Angeline has never been the fighting type!"

--"M-Mom..." Daisy gasped. "She cowardly runs back outside," Yolanda laughed, "how pathetic!"

Daisy dodged a spell by just a few inches, somersaulting across the battlefield to regain territory. "You think my mom gives up that easily?!" Daisy smirked, "I know she just went outside for backup! Once she and my friends come in, your sorry ass is done!"

--"As if!" Yolanda crossed her arms. "Murowa!" Akko and Diana shouted as they both held the Shiny Rod. Mrs. Eaglenest was accompanied by Andrew, Diana, and Akko. Because it was blessed ground, Lydia would be exposing herself, so she decided to stay outside with Rogelio. "I've had enough of you, Daisy!" Yolanda hissed, a red spark leaked from the tip of her wand, "This is it! Say goodbye to your precious mother!"

--"No!" Daisy shouted, taking the hit. "Daisy!" Mrs. Eaglenest, Akko, Andrew, and Diana gasped. Andrew ran towards Daisy's unconscious body; she was nearly dead. "Mrs. Eaglenest! Run towards the sanctuary!" Diana commanded, "Akko and I will take it from here!"

--"I won't leave without Daisy," Mrs. Eaglenest said, "Not without my baby!"

She looked over to Andrew weeping over Daisy's nearly lifeless body. "Please, Mrs. E!" Akko pleaded, "This is your chance!"

Mrs. Eaglenest hesitated briefly before running away. "This is neither of you's fight," Yolanda said, "I suggest you turn around and leave."

--"You're wrong," Diana said, "this is also our fight!"

--"Daisy is part of our family," Akko added, "we may not be related by blood, but we will give everything we've got for her as she has done for us!"

--"Then, I hope both of you are prepared to die," Yolanda smirked before attacking. Diana was the first one to charge towards her; Akko followed right behind, taking Yolanda's blindside. Meanwhile, Andrew dragged Daisy's body towards a corner away from the battleground. "Daisy, please wake up," he whispered, holding her cold body closer, "I know you're still in there. Please open your eyes."

"Wake up, my child..." a voice made Daisy sit up and look around. She was still in the sanctuary, but she was alone. Daisy looked up to see Lucia in front of her, standing tall with a stern expression on her face. "M-Madre Lucía...!" Daisy gasped, "W-Where am I? What's going on?"

--"You are in slumber, my child," Lucia replied, "Yolanda's attack killed you, but I managed to stabilize you back to life. You are in a coma, in other words."

--"I...died?!" Daisy gasped, "But you'll bring me back to life, right?!"

--"Within time, I will," Lucia replied, "but first, I need you to know about something."

--"I can't just stand here while my friends and family are fighting Yolanda out there!" Daisy shouted, "I'm sorry, Madre Lucia, but I have to go back!"

--"You cannot go out there only to be killed by Yolanda again," Lucia scolded, "if you return to the battle, the fate of the Rodriguez family will fall in Yolanda's hands, is that what you want, Daisy?"

Daisy remained silent. "No," she replied, "...no, I don't..."

--"Then, be patient," Lucia commanded, "there is still much for you to learn."
