I cried watching her in the pit
I saw how her body fought-
with all the strength it had
and when her muscles gave up on trying
I saw her self worth die every time she had to scream "no"
how her heart broke- I saw it through the muscles of her face as she cried
the sound she made as she screamed in such a way that proved her whole being could not take it
I saw that she felt alone as she looked up into the sky in complete shock
I heard her defiant thoughts towards reality
with every tear she shed
how fear filled her up more than the snake did.
I wish I could reach out and hold her
bandage her wounds as soon as they appear within her
