I'm Here For You

Chapter 5

Sonny steps out of the exam room and heads to the waiting area when Elizabeth runs over to him. Hugging him gently so as to not hurt her fractured wrist only to pull away from him.

"Hey! Are you alright?"

Sonny holds onto her a little longer just like he had done earlier before the nurse came and interrogated them.

"Yeah, I'm fine. I told Carly that we lost the baby."

"How did she take it? I'm sorry. That was a stupid thing to say. I'm so sorry. If there is anything that I can do all you have to do is just ask."

Elizabeth replies back to Sonny as she looks down at the floor.

Sonny looks at her as he leans in gently lifting her chin up so he can look up into her beautiful brown eyes.

"Elizabeth? It's okay. I understand. You don't have to apologize. Thank you for everything that you've done for me. I really appreciate everything that you've done and I don't know what I would have done without you these past few years. I'm always going to be here whenever you need me. You know that, don't you?"

Sonny replies back to Elizabeth as he continues to stare down into her beautiful blue eyes before he reaches out to give her a hug.

"Of course. I'm always going to be here for you, too. Always. Whenever you need me."

Elizabeth returns the hug before she pulls back from the hug.

"You look tired. You should go home and get some rest. I can stay here and call you if there's any changes."

Sonny gently pulls her back into his embrace.

"Thank you for your support and for wanting to take care of me. I really appreciate it more than you know but you should be the one going home and taking care of yourself. Have you seen a doctor about your arm?"

Elizabeth immediately begins to blush hearing him being concerned about her when he has just suffered the worst loss imaginable.

"Yes, Sonny. I have seen a doctor and I have gotten all bandaged up. They even gave me a prescription for painkillers."

Sonny looks at her giving her a glimpse of his dimples.

"Then allow me to take you anywhere you want to go."

Elizabeth looks at him with a raised eyebrow.

"Sonny, thank you, but really you don't have to. I mean your grieving right now. You mean the world to me. I don't want whatever that's been happening between us to ruin our friendship."

Sonny shakes his head.

"You're not. I mean Carly and I we've never been together since that night and we've been fighting. We were especially right before she fell down the stairs back at the Quartermaine house."

Elizabeth looks at him as he is still holding her hand.

"Want to go somewhere more private to talk?"

Sonny looks at her as she feels him giving her hand a gentle squeeze.

"All right, let's go. You talked me into it. Maybe some fresh air will do me some good."

Elizabeth looks at him as she gently pulls him into a hug.

"Everything is going to be okay. You're going to get through this. I'm going to be with you every step of the way."

Sonny returns the hug before he pulls back from her.

"But, before we go. I have to call Bobbie and tell her what happened and see if she can come and stay with Carly."

Elizabeth looks at him as she reaches out her hand to him so as to give his hand a gentle squeeze.

"I'll be waiting right here for you. I'm not going anywhere."

Sonny gives her a small smile before he leans in giving her a hug before pulling back.

"Thank you. I'll be right back."
