Chapter 2

After classes were over, Hu Tao began to head back home until Xingqiu stopped her.

"Hey, Tao, are you busy today?" The boy asked.

Hu Tao shook her head, responding "No, what's up?"

"Wanna come over? My roommate's there as well, but all three of us could chill, maybe play some Monopoly or other board games."

Hu Tao smiled. "Sure, sounds fun."

She didn't know who this roommate is, but it would be nice to make another friend.

Soon, the two of them arrived at Xingqiu's house.

"Welcome to my humble abode," the boy said jokingly.

His house looked a bit on the expensive side, and it was mostly clean except around the bookshelf.

"I'll get Chongyun from his room, you two can talk while I change out of my uniform."

"Chongyun?" Hu Tao thought. "That name seems familiar..."

Faintly, Hu Tao could hear Xingqiu bickering with another boy.

"You brought a girl over?"

"Yeah, her name's Hu Tao. Why don't you go meet her?"

"So the prestigious prodigy Xingqiu has a girlfriend..."

"She's not my girlfriend, Frosty."

"If she's gonna come over tonight, try to be quiet when you guys do it."

"You're gross..."

After a bit, an icy-blue-haired boy emerged from the hallway.

"Hey." The boy waved to Hu Tao.

"Hi there!" Hu Tao knew who he was now. Chongyun was in her English class.

"You must be... err, can I call you Tao?" He seemed a bit awkward and cold.

"Yeah, sure! And you're Chongyun."

Chongyun nodded.

"Nice to meet you, Tao."

Hu Tao grinned. "Nice to meet you, Frosty."

Chongyun was set aback by this. "That's... you can just call me Chongyun."

"That's no fun, though." Hu Tao pouted, trying to pull off puppy eyes.

Chongyun didn't know the deal with this girl. In fact, she was starting to annoy him.

"Fine..." Chongyun was visibly bothered.

"Yay! Thanks, Frosty!" Hu Tao had a cheeky smile on her face.

"It seems you two are getting along," Xingqiu said as he walked into the room.

"Not at all," Chongyun said grudgingly.

Xingqiu chuckled. "C'mon, warm up that cold, dark heart of yours."

"You know I can't," Chongyun whisper-shouted to Xingqiu.

"I didn't mean literally," Xingqiu responded.

He then whispered something in Chongyun's ear that made Chongyun flinch.

"No! Definitely not!" Chongyun's face was a bit red, but no one could tell if it was from anger or something else.

While the two boys squabbled, Hu Tao just sat on the couch watching them. "What good friends," she thought.

"I hope I can be included as well soon..."
