It was early Fall and the Bridge family was invited to witness Shiloh and Janet getting married. Janet and Shiloh were making their preparations and some of the family members were in the ceremony. Dingo was asked to be Bestman and Kada was asked to be one of the bridesmaids. Dingo made another attempt to discourage the groom from getting married but Shiloh wasn't listening. Once Dingo was dressed, he found Tessa with Dennis and said he needed to talk to her alone. She immediately agreed but Dennis asked what it was about that he had to take me into another room. Dingo looked at him and said he needed to talk to her as his sister and left Dennis behind. When she left the room she glanced back at Dennis again, he wore a curious look on his face. Dingo brought Tessa to another room and told her to wait a moment while he stepped into the room and closed the door behind himself.
A moment later Dingo opened the door again and invited her inside. She walked in, wondering what he needed to talk her about when she saw Shiloh. He was wearing his tuxedo pants and an undershirt with his dress shirt still hanging loosely on him. She told him he looked very handsome in his suit. Dingo told her how nobody in the family wants their big brother getting married to Janet but he's refusing to listen. She stepped forward and told him about the rumors she'd been hearing around the table and from other people too. She reminded him about how controlling Janet's been around the family and when she's talking to him. "I noticed all of this just from observing the two of you together. I can see how miserable and depressed you've become any time you and her have a disagreement. None of us are happy with your choice and I have to agree with Dingo; if you marry Janet, you'll be making the biggest mistake of your life. What happens if she gets worse after you're married to her? You wouldn't be your happy, cheery self anymore and I for one would be upset if you didn't listen." Shiloh thanked Tessa for talking to him and needed some time to think before going to the altar. She stepped back out of the room so the men could finish dressing and went to sit down somewhere until the wedding started.
Everyone started coming to the room she was already sitting in and she relocated herself to the back row so the more dressed up people could have the front seats. Donny found her and sat down next to her. He asked me what Dingo had to talk to me about and I told him I was talking to my brother about a private discussion.
The wedding started and the music began. When Janet came into the room, she looked great in her bridal dress. She was beaming but I knew it wouldnt be long before she did something to ruin things with Shiloh and I still felt bad for what he was about to do. Shiloh wasnt smiling like he had been. When the minister finally asked those sacred words, Let him speak now or forever hold his peace, I was watching both Shiloh and Dingo. Dingo looked in my direction and saw my eyes connect with his. Shiloh looked behind him at Dingo as though he could feel his brothers eyes digging through his soul and saw the look in his eyes. Shiloh saw Dingos eyes look in my direction again and this time Shiloh did the same. I had concern in my eyes, mixed with worry. Shiloh and I have always been close, like kindred spirits. Just as the minister was about to continue, Shiloh let go of Janets hand and backed away. Dingo, realizing what was happening, back away from his brother and gave him some space. Shiloh told the minister to stop and told Janet, Im not going through with this. It would be a mistake if I did. He walked away from Janet and left the room. Shiloh said something to Dingo and they left the room together. Everyone was surprised and didnt know what to do. Dingo returned a minute later and told us all Shiloh says the wedding is off. This caused murmurs in the room to only get louder and some of the people in the wedding party went to their rooms to get changed.
Donny took my hand and tried to pull me aside when Dingo grabbed his arm and said Shiloh was asking for me. Donny couldnt understand why hed be asking for me but he let me go and I followed Dingo back to the room again. When the door was opened, Shiloh was still in his tuxedo and looking even more handsome than before. I couldnt help but to smile at my bubba. I even told him this because I knew it would bring a smile to his face.
