Chapter 5

(3rd Person POV)

"Ok listen up boys! For today's practice, let's have a four on four match," Coach Irihata announced after the team finish their stretches routine.

"Who against who, Coach?" Oikawa asked in wonder.

The Coach smile as he look to all the members who seems to be anxious of wanting to participate and not, "Team A will be all the four third years vs. Two second years, Yahaba and Kageyama with our two first years, Kunimi and Kindaichi."

Yamato look surprise and then turn to look at the grinning coach and a cheering Ryouta beside Watari. He only play with them during his try out assessment match, so to be pick in the regular practice surprised him.

"Coach, are you sure? I just joined the team like three days ago and I am still learning within the team," Yamato says looking surprised with hint of worry.

"Nonsense Kageyama, you will be fine and just think this is your form of learning to play within this team," Coach says with grin and thumbs up.

Yamato blinks few times and sighing before nods with nervousness shown. Yahaba and Watari took notice of this and approach him. Yahaba pat his shoulder in which Yamato turn to look at his year mate and friends.

"Don't worry Kageyama-kun. This is a perfect chance for us to work together as a solid team," Yahaba assured.

"I don't mind Kageyama-san. I also want to learn how you play so I could get used to your movement. Learning by watching your teammates is also a plus," says a grinning Watari with thumbs up.

Yamato nodded and smile to the two boys, "Let's learn working together then Shigeru... Watari."

With that the four on four match practice begin...

OIKAWA (SERVE)

MATSUKAWA

KAGEYAMA

KINDAICHI

First serve goes to Oikawa and as usual, all the boys on the opposite side looks worry. He did his famous jump serve.

(Yamato's POV)

As the ball pass over to our side, I look at the ball's direction and hurriedly run to the center and receive them. I took noted that Oikawa-senpai's serve is full of control and less power but if we are not too careful, we could lose point anytime. Oikawa-senpai's serve reminds me of Atsumu's serve but the sly blond fox always use full power even during practice with make a slight difficulty for us to receive, that is why I always stay on guard.

I pass the ball to Yahaba and he set it for Kindaichi to spike but it was blocked by Matsukawa-senpai. Next was Kunimi's serve, it was a normal serve and it was received by Iwaizumi-senpai who send it to Oikawa who set it to Hanamaki-senpai as it was nearing the net and ready for spiked, I blocked it and watch as the ball slammed down to the third year's side which make us even.

I watch as Kunimi attempted to receive the ball and as it was to go down, I slide and able to pick it up, "Cover!" I say and Kindaichi immediately cover for me and spike it down the third year's side again gaining us another consecutive points. I high five Kindaichi and I pat Kunimi's back, "don't worry... you can get it next time." Kunimi was looking at me in awe before nods, "Haitt..."
