"Kenma, it hurts."

" I love you."

Kenma's body wracked violently, agonizing wails involuntarily leaving his mouth. Kuroo's last words constantly harassing his thoughts, and even if they weren't, the soulmate mark that was permanently ingrained into his back never failed to serve as a reminder. A week had passed since the affair, so why couldn't he bring himself to let go of his late lover ?

The colourful lights that emitted from the LED dome light reflected throughout every corner of Kenma's room, as if mocking him. His soulmate mark on his collarbone appeared red and irritated, the result of the constant scratching and clawing during unplanned breakdowns. Kenma averted his gaze upwards, with his eyes swelled up and face streaked with tears.

"I love you too, please come back."

Kenma managed to choke out in between sobs. His heart felt heavy with regret as he slumped against Kuroo's favourite sweater. The LED dome light eventually died out and he was left alone yet again.
