I went downstairs and mom was making breakfast. "Well that's a slutty top." I said to mom she was wearing a white top that was showing a hell lot of cleavage. "Nessa language Austin's right there!" "Oh please he knows what it means." I say and Austin nods.
I give mom a form for sophomore sleepover. "What is this?" She asks "it's like a sleepover at the school for all the sophomores. It's pretty lame though, like who wants to stay over at school on a Friday night!" I say. "Oh Ellen told me about this I'm chaperoning." Mom says. "What no mom please your gonna embarrass me." "Oh peach you won't even notice I'm there." Mom says and I roll my eyes.
At school "I got the part I got the part! Yeah! Yeah!" Max says running to me. "Oh my god Max I'm so happy for you!" I give her a hug. She got the lead in the school play. I look over and see Marcus making out with Padma. BLAH. I was low key kind of jealous. He literally came into my room yesterday and tried to kiss me. And then he was with a girl this whole time. They walk over to us. "Hey Ness." Marcus says. "Hey." I say. "So Vanessa your going to the sophomore sleepover right?" Padma asks. "Yeah I'm going my mom's chaperoning." I reply. "Oh really Georgia's coming yay!" Max says. Max really loves my mom like a lot.
I see Marcus staring at me and right when I look at him he pretends he wasn't looking at me. After school
Mom forced me to get a job at Blue Farm Cafe. Ugh I absolutely hate it. But I'm getting money so it's not that bad. "Hey Joe!" I say walking in. "Hey Nessa!" He says back. I like Joe a lot hes so nice to me and mom forced him to let me work here and he was so chill about it. I talk to him about my problems and he gives pretty good advice.
I get to the cashier station thingy and I get ready to take people orders. And guess who's walks in. MARCUS.
He chuckles and comes to order. "What do you want?" I ask him annoyed. "Don't you mean, welcome to Blue Farm Cafe, how may I help you?" Marcus says. "No I mean what do you want?" I ask him. "Service with a smile." He says smiling. "Iced coffee. Black. No milk." He says. I pour him a black coffee. "Black like your heart?" I say.
Joe gives me a weirded out stare. I pour milk into the coffee and Marcus scoffs and chuckles. I give him the coffee and our hands touch I feel butterflies or something for some reason. He takes the coffee. "Three bucks and we don't do Venmo." I say. He salutes and leaves. Why do I feel this way about him?
