Happiness - the state of being happy.

The feeling of being pleased or joyed.

The feeling that comes over you when you know that life is good.

The opposite of sadness.

Happiness - the constant pressure of feeling happy.

The constant pressure to be positive.

The constant pressure to be okay.

The opposite of sadness.

Happiness.

Happiness...

Happiness......

Happiness was a lie.

It tells people that you can create a good day out of even the worst circumstances and pain. It tells people to have a better view of life and a brighter attitude. It was all a lie.

All this time, we've been sold a lie.

You don't always need to be happy. You can't always be happy. It's impossible. Society has created an image where you aren't allowed to be unhappy. You can't be upset. You can't be in pain. You have to be happy no matter what situation you're in. You have to be happy for others. You have to support others. You aren't allowed to be jealous.

It's all just a big fat lie.

You can't always be happy and you most certainly can't always make a good situation out of a bad one. It's unhealthy to hide your feelings from others, even if you think it's the right thing to do.

Everyone's feelings are valid. Everyone can feel upset. Everyone can feel unhappy. Everyone can be hurt. Just not all the time. Happiness is important, don't get me wrong, but sometimes feeling a little worse can be good for you. If you choose to ignore your problems, it just builds up inside. That isn't healthy either.

And all Cole was telling himself was that his happiness didn't exist. He was telling himself that if he didn't hide his true feelings then he'd lose those that he loved. But if they really loved and cared for him, they would help him and not turn him away when he was in need. And right now, he was definitely in need.

He kept putting his own feelings aside for the sake of his friendship. He was scared of hurting Jay  again. And Jay was only beginning to worry about his best friend's mental health. Cole's head was still a mess.

Cole was sat alone in his room, reading through one of his favourite comics. For once, he wasn't thinking about Jay. He was just enjoying some time alone. Well, that was until someone knocked on his door.

"Come in," He called out, not looking up from his comic.

The door opened and the person stepped in. Cole glanced up to see his best friend with an awkward smile on his face. Cole smiled and sat up, giving him his full attention.

"I just wanted to thank you for the advice yesterday," Jay told him awkwardly.

"No problem," He grinned, "How did it go with Nya?"

"Great, actually, she loved it just like you said," Jay replied.

"I'm glad," Cole smiled but it quickly faded.

He could tell there was more going on with him. He couldn't help but think it was his fault, but yet again, he put that aside and focused on Jay.

"You okay?" Cole wondered, frowning.

Jay nodded, "Just worried about you, that's all."

"What? Why?"
