Nightmares (Soul Eater fanfic)

Chapter 2: Awaken

Chapt 2
Maka opened her eyes wide. All she could hear was her weapon's pleads and heavy breathing. She sat up from bed and tried to listen to Soul's pleas, but it was difficult to make out what he was saying since it was so breathy. Soul,are you okay?" She called as she got out of bed. Soul could not answer loud enough for her to hear, his breathing did a good job at muffling all of Soul's words. Maka walked over to Soul's room and stopped at the door "Another nightmare?" She asked looking at him with a slightly worried expresion.
"Yeah." Soul answered as his panting slowed down. He put his hand on his chest and sensed the rapid pumping of his heart.

Maka walked closer to him "You have nightmares practically every other night, what happens in them?" She asked taking a seat on his bed. Soul did not want to tell Maka that he was dreaming about her getting killed, he did not want her feel awkward around him.

"Maybe tomorrow, I'm kinda tired." Soul said trying to yawn a bit so his excuse would seem more believable.

"Soul, you are not getting out of this. Unless you want to keep having nightmares." Maka insisted eager to know what was on Soul's mind.

"Maka I promise I will tell you tomorrow." Soul said irritated that she kept insisting on getting into his personal business. But Maka wouldn't give in. She pulled a book from nowhere and threatened to hit him with it.
"Wh-where did that even come f-from!" Soul stammered his wide eyes glancing at the hard cover book.
"That does not matter, what matters is that you tell me whats going on in the nightmares." Maka insisted waving the book over top of his head "You either tell me the story or your head becomes a bookshelf". Maka said drawing back her book. Soul finally gave in as he put his hands in the way of her future attack.

"Okay okay you win! Since you're going to play it that way, I will tell you the nightmares."
