The Leopard of Wakanda (Loki x OC)

Reborn: Part 4

It had been weeks sense Loki revealed his secret to Leonna about what he had been up to in New York. She was hurt and surprised by what he had done. But she knew the only way he could overcome what he had done and gain forgiveness was to be by her side. He had no-one. He had Thor, but he was Thor. He was in line to be King of Asguard and Loki was always in his shadow in his fathers eyes. He had Frigga, but ever sense he found out about his Jotun heritage he pushed her away. He didn't have Odin. He had Leonnas father, Barrington, but then again he was Odin's right hand man. So that wasn't the best person to go to when he needed someone. So he had Leonna. His best friend and confidant. He just had to keep it that way. But in order to not lose her, he had to try to be a better man. 

Leonna and T'Challa were sparring in the courtyard when Shuri ran up to them waving her hands in the air wildly and panting. 

"Sister, you look odd. What is it that you wish to say? Spit it out." T'Challa was laughing at the state his sister was in. She was waving her arms in the air like a mad women attempting to say something but she was out of breath. Leonna placed her hand upon Shuri's back and inhaled deeply. Her eyes flashed bright magenta and Shuri relaxed immediately. "There all better friend. Now, what is it that you have rushed to come tell us?" Leonna asked with humor in her voice.

"Mother wishes to grant you the full power of the Leopard! I overheard her speaking to her advisors just now! They wish to do it tonight under the full moon!" Shuri was excited. This only happened once before. When her brother was given the power of the Black Panther. But this was different. Leonna already possessed magical powers, but her true power that lay within Wakanada was yet to be released. For that, she had to be given it. 

Leonna's eyes widened and a large smile grew upon her face. "Cousins! This is the day I have been waiting for my entire life! Soon, I will be at your level T'Challa. The three of us will protect Wakanda from evil!" Leonna grabbed Shuri and T'Challa's hands and smiled with tears in her eyes. "This is what I was born to do." 

Just then Ramonda and two palace guards walked into the training grounds. "Leonna, my beautiful niece I assume Shuri's listening ears have beat me to bringing you the news?" Ramonda asked while looking at her daughter. "Yes aunty! I am so grateful for this opportunity. I will not let you down!" Leonna hugged her aunt and they stood there for a peaceful moment. 

"Alright then, you will be transformed in to the Leopard power we all know you are tonight under the magic of the full moon. Everyone will be in attendance. I have sent a message to your father but I am unsure if he will attend. Ive heard things in Asguard are tense diplomatically right now. But know if he doesn't come, he sends his well wishes." Ramonda said this with grace, she always spoke as if she was reading poetry aloud. 

"Thank you, I know he does. His job is very demanding. Always has been. At least I have everyone else I love. And Loki is here too. He will represent Asguard in my fathers stead." Leonna replied.

"Also, we will have a few members of the Avengers team in attendance. T'Challa knows a few of them. They have helped our people in many ways. They wish to celebrate with us." Ramanda didn't speak of the Avengers that often. Leonna didn't know much about them other than the fact that Thor was one of them. In some of Thor's letters he spoke of a man named Tony Stark who never stopped talking, and about a man named Steve Rogers who was some type of super soldier. But other than that, she knew nothing. Loki never mentioned them other than when he finally fessed up about New York. It would be an interesting evening. 

Night rolled around and Leonna was being prepared by a few servants of the Wakandan palace. They were preparing her skin with oils and wrapping her in a gown so vibrantly magenta it made her stand out even in the darkness of night. Her hair was braided into a bun and her feet were bare. Leonna walked out of her bedroom when she was ready. Loki stood at her door way waiting to escort her to the ceremony. "You look stunning. More beautiful each time lay my eyes on you." Loki took Leonnas hand and kissed the top of it. "Thank you, my prince." Leonna winked at Loki and the two of them made their way to the ceremony.
