The Leopard of Wakanda (Loki x OC)

Particle X: Part 7

It had been days sense Leonna's revelation about the one behind the threats against earth and she was knee deep in research. She looked through S.H.I.E.L.D.'s files searching for answers about this mysteriously dangerous Kang character and she came up with nothing. She searched ancient texts that were sent through the bifrost from Asgard, and she found nothing. She even did a simple google search... and nothing. She was starting to get frustrated and it was wearing on her both physically and emotionally. She didn't sleep much, she didn't eat much, she didn't really do much of anything other than research.

"You look like hell." Natasha stated as she walked into Stark Tower's library.

"Thanks." Leonna said looking down at a book in her lap. She sat cross legged on a small couch in the center of the library. She had dark circles under her eyes and her hair was in a messy bun. She looked like she hadn't brushed her hair or bathed in days.

"I think it's time you take a little break. Let someone else take over for you maybe?" Natasha smiled weakly and sat next to Leonna. "Loki misses you. As much as that guy annoys me, he loves you. And seeing you like this is hurting him... deeply." Natasha wasn't the type to show her emotions. She didn't even know Leonna very well. But she knew when someone was in need of help, and she wanted to help. 

"I know... he is a bit overprotective though. I just wish he didn't look at me like I was a porcelain doll. I am not going to break so easily." Leonna replied shutting the book in her lap and laying back against the couch with a heavy sigh. 

"We all know you are strong. But everyone breaks at some point. Don't hit your breaking point just yet. Go, take a shower and rest a while. I promise you the books will still be here when you are done." 

"Fine, but I really am fine. I can handle this. And I am taking this one with me to read later, I haven't finished it yet. I will find out who Kang is. I have to." Leonna stood up and left the library. She walked down the hall then pressed the button on the wall where the elevator was. She waited patiently as the light flashed and the elevator dinged loudly. She winced at each ding it made. She realized then that she really did need to start taking care of herself. Even the light from the windows around the tower were making her wince. 

Leonna got off on the floor where her and Lokis room was and she slowly made her way over. She smiled as she saw Loki leaning against the wall next to their room. 

"I was waiting for you." Loki said softly with a smile. 

"Did Natasha tell you she was coming to talk to me?" Leonna asked. 

"She may have mentioned it. I knew she would get through to you." Loki turned and opened the door to their room for them and gestured for her to enter. 

"How did you know I would listen to her? You have been telling me to rest for days and all I have done is ignore you. Sorry... by the way." Leonna bit her lip then put the book down on the small table next to their bed then took her hair down and began combing her fingers through the tangled mess while sitting on the edge of their bed. 

"Just a feeling. Here... let me help you are going to rip your hair out." Loki chuckled softly then conjured her hairbrush and began brushing her hair. Being careful not to pull too hard on the curly strands. Leonna closed her eyes and tried to relax for once. She was itching to finish the book she started and search for answers but she knew her body needed rest. 

"Has Fury made any progress at the Pentagon? Did they have any answers?" Leonna asked Loki with her eyes still closed. 

"I haven't heard anything but he returns to New York tonight. I suspect we will gain a visit from him and he will let us know if he obtained any new information." Loki was done brushing her hair at this point and he got up and went to their closet. He pulled out Leonna's favorite night shirt and handed it to her. "Take a nap love. You deserve it. I promise I will wake you in a few hours." Loki kissed her temple then began to walk out of the room.
