Naomi POV
"Naomi wake up it's morning" someone gently shook my shoulder. I rolled over in the bed hearing the duvet crumple rubbing my eyes i look up at the person. After waiting for my eyes or adjust to the light for a second I see a lady with strawberry blonde hair looking down at me. "hi I'm Pepper Pots I'm CEO of Tony's company and, his girlfriend" she tacked on the last part a little awkwardly."nice to meet you I brought you some breakfast" I just stare at her blankly "so um how'd you sleep? It must be weird being here your first night and all" "um I slept ok" I'm still kinda of dazed there's a strange feeling like my head is buzzing "ahhh" I gasp grabbing my head "oh no are you ok!" Pepper exclaims "ya ya I'm ok but-" suddenly I can hear Pepper's thoughts this never happened at Hydra they must've done something to block their thoughts. This is the first time with this happening it felt weird (anytime it's someone's thoughts it will be marked like *this*) *what's happening with her? Should I get Tony? Or maybe Bruce would be better?* "no no I'm ok you don't need to get Tony or Bruce" I say raising my head to look at Pepper who is staring at me with a concerned expression "Did you just answer my thoughts?" "I think so? i forgot I could do that though so it took me by surprise sorry if I scared you" pepper is still staring at me with her mouth wide open "no no it's ok" she shakes her head trying to wear off the shock *I'm a little freaked out to be honest she can read minds! Tony never mentioned this does he even know?* "no I don't think he knows" I answer her thoughts again she looks a bit annoyed "well I guess that's why we're doing a test today isn't it to figure out exactly what you can do" she says placing some clothes onto the bed "here these are for you to wear" there's a pair of black leggings and a green tank top plus some sneakers on the floor "Natasha and I will meet you in the gym which is down two floors and the third door on your left" I immediately forgot the instructions "thank you" I reply before adding "I'm sorry if me reading your thoughts was violating I didn't mean to just do it like that it's just hard to block it out right now". "it's ok I understand" Pepper said as she left but I could tell the apology made her feel better. after eating the breakfast of eggs toast and orange juice she had brought I pull on the leggings and tank then slip on the sneakers. After pulling my hair back into a pony tail I walk out the door which Tony has apparently unlocked for this morning. I walk down the hall immediately becoming lost since before I was unconscious when I was moved around the compound. I eventually made it to the right floor and began opening doors before who I assume was Natasha stepped out of one and pulled me into the gym. she looked me up and down. "hi I'm Natasha you can call me Nat" she says not unkindly "I'm-" I begin before she cuts you off "I know who you are Bruce and Tony filled me in, so here's what's we're gonna do. There's a list Tony made and we're just gonna go down and pepper will check off if you have that power" she glanced at Pepper who's standing in the corner with an iPad in her hands. "ready?" Nat says to both me and pepper "yup" Pepper signals with a thumbs up. "I guess so" I sigh not really looking forward to the ordeal. "flight" pepper announces, I hover a few feet in the air. "check" Natasha says we keep going and end up logging down flight, invisibility, energy blast, fazing, teleportation, super strength, enhanced reflexes, mind reading, telekinesis, and telepathy. "anything we missed?" Natasha asks "well there's one other thing but I need a wound to demonstrate". Natasha rolls up her sleeve to expose a nasty gash on her forearm "will this work?" "Ya". I wince a little at the sight of it. I place two fingers to my lips creating a soft white glowing substance that I then place on Nat's cut and trace along it, it immediately heals without a trace. Natasha just stares as pepper frantically types something into her iPad. great more information about me to be found and exploited by someone. "Naomi with a power like this you could save so many lives soldiers cancer patients the list is endless!" Natasha begins to list but I finish for her. "no I actually can't, Hydra thought I could too but I can't it takes from my own life force when I do that, it's fine for smaller things but not anything huge, it's like killing the goose with golden eggs" it's been a real soar point with me that I can't use my ability to help people. What's the the point of having it if I can't do anything with it but I already mostly accepted that it's useless. Natasha walks over to me and looks like she's about to say something before Tony walks in. "hey kid" he says walking right past me. "hey Nat can I talk to you about something?" He asks quietly "sure what's up". I begin to try and pry into Tony's mind but it's harder then you expected. Why is it reading Pepper's thoughts was so easy? Maybe cause this is secret? "I meant I want to talk to you alone" everyone looks at you"what!?" I exclaim "is me being here the only thing that's keeping this from being a private conversation?" Tony sighs and shakes his head. "Pepper can you please take Naomi back to her room?" "Of course".she says walking over to me. She puts her hand lightly on my back and guided me out of the gym. I turn my head around to see what's going on before Pepper totally drags me out of the room but all I manage to see is Tony smiling slyly and waving at me. As we walk down the hallway Tony shouts "and lock her room door!!". I cross my arms and stomp the rest of the way to the elevator why does everyone think they can just tell you what to do here I'm not 5! I can feel my blood beginning to boil pepper looks at me and her face becomes worried. "are you ok sweetie?" She asks "ya why wouldn't I be- ahhh" pepper and I both scream as a fire blazes to life right where I was standing luckily the elevator dings letting us out. pepper grabs a fire extinguisher and blasts foam onto the quickly spreading fire "what was that!" She yells. "I I don't know I'm sorry" I say tears forming in my eyes but quickly evaporating before they can hit my cheeks. "I can't always control what happens and it just does!". You fall to your knees crying but no tears pepper begins to walk towards me but then backs up, I realize Im on fire she tells Jarvis, whoever that is, to set off the ceiling sprinklers they go off drenching me and putting out the fire. pepper comes over and hugs me as I cry, except now the tears aren't visible because im already soaked. she helps me into the couch and lays me down where I fall asleep from exhaustion both from training and crying.
