Night had come, but Blu refused to sleep. He brought a pile a aerodynamics books to the top of a long bookshelf and studied hard trying to learn to fly.
"Natural instincts?" He mocked. "There is nothing NATURAL about being thrown half-way across a room. But, I'll show him. I just have to work out the physics."
Blu looked at the notes he'd been taking. "I have quadrated my vector angles, adjusted for wind sheer, positive reinforcement," and he circled the word "believe" on his pad. "Let's see.
"Flaps open? Check. Landing gear? Check. Tail flaps? Operational, and... not bad. Ok, Let's do this." He flipped a switch, which in turn illumimated a runway made out of christmas lights on top of the shelf.
"Just keep it simple. Thrust, lift, drag, and weight. Thrust, lift, drag, weight. Thrust, lift, drag, weight. Thrust, lift, drag, weight. Thrust, lift, drag.... WAIT!!"
Blu stopped himself short of the end, slipping and sliding all the way. He grabbed hold of the string of lights thinking he saved himself from falling. The string snapped, entangling him and dangling him off the side of the shelf. Linda ran downstairs to check the commotion, and found Blu just hanging there...
