Peter's POV

Mr. Stark and I walked down the halls of the hospital floor in the Tower, passing by Doctors as they rushed around, the place loud with the footsteps and talking from everyone while they worked for an antidote.

It has been half a year since the apocalypse started, and it is nothing like the movies.

A blue alien drug was lost here on Earth while the Guardians were looking for the sellers. The drug was specifically made for aliens, so you can already imagine the effects it had on humans.

It fell on the Asian side, near the border of Mongolia and China, in Russia. As more Russians got infected, the easier and faster the drug went from Russia, to Mongolia, to China, to India, to Japan, and all the way to North and South America. People have hidden and isolated themselves, both the ill and the heathy.

Right now, with the help of Wakanda (who fortunately wasn't affected because of their shield), the Guardians of the Galaxy, Captain Marvel and SHIELD, Mr. Stark, Dr. Banner and Dr. Cho are working on an antidote. They're getting there, slowly but surely.

While we neared the elevator, I felt my senses tingle like someone was watching me. I looked to my right and saw a nurse staring at me with a certain look in her eyes, I can't pinpoint what, but it weirdly resembles discomfort. She suddenly dashed towards me, pulled down my medical mask, stuck something in my mouth, pulled my eyelid open, and poked right where my vain is on my arm, as well as my wrist, before leaving.

I stood there, completely and utterly confused, before Mr. Stark called me to hurry up as he waited inside the elevator, keeping the doors open. I rushed forward, still trying to figure out what just happened.

The Next Day

We walked, yet again, through the halls of the hospital floor, checking in on Doctors and patients, helping them if needed, and taking notes of the antidote's effects. It's a work in progress.

I again felt the same tingle of someone watching me, but when I turned around, I saw nurses and even doctors throwing me glances, the nurse from yesterday showing them a piece of paper, also throwing me glances.

They kept talking in hushed voices, until some nurses, with the one from yesterday, and some doctors approached us. They pulled Mr. Stark aside, but glanced at me from time to time, letting me know the conversation was about me. Even Mr. Stark threw me a glance at some point, looking slightly panicked.

When Mr. Stark came back, he put his hand softly on my back, so soft I probably wouldn't have felt it without my senses, and guided me towards another room, Doctors and nurses following. That's when they told me what was going on.

I got infected with the drug, and the nurse noticed because the veins in my eyes were more purple, slowly turning blue. Thankfully, my super healing was slowing it, but it was still affecting me. I will have to be quarantined in this room to not infect anything on my way to the penthouse, Mr. Stark already having called people to clean my room for when I come back.

I understood, so I complied and stayed in this room, letting Mr. Stark leave to work with Dr. Banner and Dr. Cho on the antidote, something telling me that he will be working a little more desperately.

A Couple Weeks Later

I laid in bed, the TV playing 'Grey's Anatomy', the episode of the rapist on the loose, while I ate the food Nurse Rossi brought me. My vision has been a little... blue lately, but my super eyesight helps me see the screen with only a blue hue around the corner of my eyes.

Right when Stephanie found her keycard, Mr. Stark, Dr. Banner, Dr. Cho and some other Doctors and Nurses walked in with smiles on their faces, or grins in Mr. Stark's case.

"What's up?" I asked as I bit onto my chicken nugget, my eyes glancing between them and the screen. Stephanie already opened the roof door and is trying to get the attention of the others outside.

"We figured it out." Dr. Cho responded, her eyes also on the TV screen as she leaned on the wall next to my bed. My eyes snapped towards her and the rest of the doctors and nurses, my eyes widening in shock.

"The antidote?" I asked softly, staring at Mr. Stark now, hope blooming in my stomach and chest at the thought of getting out of this room. I've been watching 'Grey's Anatomy' for almost five weeks now, and as much as I love the show, it can get boring with nothing else to do but eat while watching it.

Mr. Stark nodded, his grin somehow widening as he came forward and hugged me. Tears of joy fell down my cheeks as I hugged back, my arms tightening around Mr. Stark who hugged me just as tight.
