She had two boys but she wanted a girl. Her own baby girl to bring into this world.
They tried and then came the news. That the long wait of 9 months was due.
How excited and happy they were. Little did they know the bad news they'd learn.
Doctors told her there was something wrong. The pills to thin her blood, she'd been on them too long.
They told her, her little baby wouldn't be very healthy. It was too dangerous, another doctor they sent her to see.
Without much said, she realized what they wanted to do. To abort the baby's birth and that she refused to.
She turned around and went back home. She told herself, 'this baby will be my little girl, I know.'
This was the first time Lucky was saved.

Head held high, 9 months later came. Doctors said its too soon, and another pill to her, they gave.
To delay the baby's birth is what it was for. One month later, and they couldn't wait any more.
Doctor said watch the monitor, don't let it go under fifty. When it did, she called the nurse, but the nurse said, 'Don't worry.'
Minutes later, the doctor returned. Furious he was at her. It had, he learned.
Rushed to the O.R. it was an emergency. They had to, by caesarean deliver the baby.
Her heart had stopped and all was very tense. Delivered and in an incubator, the doctors had passed the test.
This was the second time Lucky was saved.

The happiness within her heart, nobody could ever know. Her baby girl was finally breathing, the joy it brought her filled her soul.
Months went by and the doctors ran many tests. They wanted to check that all was ok with mommy's Beautiness.
She was worried when Lucky couldn't walk when she was supposed to. She was concerned, was her baby seeing her as she was meant to do?
To another doctor she went. It absolutely scared her, the things he said.
Lucky would never see, maybe never walk.. She couldn't accept it, so to another doctor she walked.
The doctor was much kinder than others had been. He gave her advice and told her progress would be seen.
After many years and operations too. Lucky could walk and definitely see and do.
Lucy was very faithful as she grew up. She learned of all the things her mom had eaten up.
The challenges and things her doctors put her through. The nights her mom had cried and felt so very blue.
But Lucky's mom was full of faith and so she learned. That not all is as we see it in this world.
That there is a power above the very rest. That brings us to the mountains peak after the journey's challenging test.
Lucky grew up trusting and believing in this power. She believed He would listen, no matter the hour.
When she was older she learned thankfulness. For everything she'd been through and for being so very blessed.
To have such a mother, with faith so strong. That kept her going forwards, when everyone said 'You're wrong.'
And so it was that this girl came to be. That thanks to a little courage and belief.
She grew into the very girl you look at when you look at me.
