Goodbye

-Third Person P.O.V-

With a gasp of breath Peter reaches out and grabs his mask before pulling it on top of him.

"K, you there?" He mumbles, praying she can still talk to him without him having to put the mask on.

'I'm here Peter,' she replies, her voice solem, and- and knowing of what's going to happen.

(Tick tock, tick tock, thump thump, thump thump)

Even with the situation becoming worse and worse with every passing second, Peter couldn't help but smile a little hearing the oh so familiar voice. Karen has been his AI for a lot longer then he has been Spiderman, she just came along with him for it.

"I- I want you to record this, and- and when the time comes, send it to- to the person it's- it's addressed to," Peter stutters, knowing doing this will be using the last of his strength, but he wants to. No, he- he needs to.

A beat of silence passes, and Peter thinks for a moment Karen won't reply, and he'll- he'll be left alone once again.

'Very well Peter,' Karen says, her voice shattering the silence on the roof.

(If only you could've gone on, I wish- I wish you were here with me now)

"Hey Ned," Peter starts, his voice weak, but he knows Ned will still be able to hear him when it's played.

"I'm sorry I couldn't stick around. I wanted- I wanted to, I really do, but I guess- I guess if I don't, I want you to know I'm sorry. You were- you are, my best friend and I'll never forget what you've done for me. I love you dude," Peter whispers, his voice hoarse with emotion and pain.

Peter wanted to say more, he wanted to go on, and on, and on. But deep down, he knew he didn't have time and he wanted to leave messages for others as well.

"MJ, I was- I was really looking forward to our date. I know as a- as a fact I probably would have panicked before, but it would have gone amazing. Anything- anything with you is amazing, and I- I love you so much, m'sorry we couldn't go on the date, but maybe- maybe one day."

Tears drop down his face as the sky continues to darken, the last streaks of pink and orange are beginning to fade and the blue sky is growing darker and darker.

(I never wanted to go, but- but I. Thump, thump, thump)

"Mum, da- dad. I'm so, so sorry. This- this wasn't meant to happen, and I know- I know dad you might not be coping too well. But please- please don't give up, please- I can't know you'll go back to drinking. Mum, you were- you were the best and I know you might be sad, but please- please don't," Peter paused, a shallow sob falling from his lips.

He doesn't- he doesn't want to let go.

"Just, I- I love you guys so much. And please give- give the others a hug from me and tell them I love them too," Peter cries.

He silently thanks Karen and lets his eyes drift back up to the sky.

God he was tired.

(Tick tock, tick tock. Thump. Thump. Thump.)
