Chapter 12 - A day at the pier

"Morning baby" Connor says through the phone in his hoarse morning voice.

"Morning Con Con" I reply chirpily.

"Has Alexia calmed down yet after meeting me?" Connor asks cockily.

"Yep, I had to pinch her a few times to prove that it was real but she's starting to breath again so she seems fine" I reply sarcastically.

"Okay okay, I'm sorry, she just seemed a bit flustered" he defends himself.

"Yeah I think it was just a shock to her, I mean it is extremely coincidental that I ran into you, I am happier than I have ever been before that I did though" I say trying to flirt through a phone to my new boyfriend.

"Are you coming onto me Leah Mcintosh?" He accuses me jokily.

"Hmmm, maybe a bit" I reply giggling and hear him laugh down the phone. "Anyway, I think she wants to hang out with you today and I am more than happy to spend time with you obviously so do you wanna meet?" I ask.

"Yep, sounds good to me. Shall I come to yours in say...an hour" Connor replies.

"Sounds perfect, think of something for us to do" I tell him and hung up before getting out of my bed and having a quick shower and getting dressed. It's hot outside this morning so I put on a yellow summer dress and tie my hair up in a bun so my neck doesn't get too hot under the weight of my hair, then I walk down the hall, knocking on Alexia's door to see if she's up.

"Al...Alexia, you awake?" I say quietly through the door.

"Yep, come in" She replies and I open the door to see her sitting on the bed, with her laptop and headphones in.

"What you watching?" I ask sitting down on her bed.

"YouTube" she states.

"Who?" I ask referring to the YouTuber.

"Alfie, he's so flipping hot" She says and I laugh.

"He is indeed, anyway, get dressed, Connor's coming over" I say and watch her face light up. I am so happy that she has got to meet her favourite YouTuber and gets to spend time with him but he's my boyfriend and her obvious crush on him is going to get annoying. I just smile at her and head to leave the room. "I will meet you in the kitchen" I tell her and close the door behind me.

When I get downstairs my mum is sitting at the kitchen table typing on her laptop. "What you doing mum?" I ask, filling the kettle for a cup of coffee.

"I'm working dear, I've got to finish this report and then I'm off for the day" she says.

That's the good thing about her being a doctor, she can do consultations from home anytime until she finds a practise to go to.

"Cool, Me and Alexia are going to meet up with Connor" I say.

"You're quite fond of this Connor aren't you?" My mum says nosily.

"He's a fun person yeah" I reply, I don't want to lie to her about me and Connor but as I'm not ready to tell her I will just avoid the questions she asks me about him.

"Okay, just make sure you two don't leave Alexia out" my mum warns and I roll my eyes but agree.

"Morning" Alexia greets, coming down the stairs and joining us in the kitchen.

"Morning dear, listen you two, I'm going to pop out and do some shopping whilst your dad is at work Leah, so you have a nice day and I will see you both this evening" My mum says and leaves the room, grabbing her coat and purse before leaving the house.
