"It felt like she couldn't breathe, like the Athena Parthenos herself was sitting on her chest; her very heart was aflame like she was being burnt at the stake; she longed for her the way a seed longs for the sunlight. Vitally."

One was a child of light, healing, prophecy, music, poetry, archery, and more. Everything she touched, she was supposed to make better, to bathe in the golden glow of her family. Except that her life was full of darkness, pain, death, forgetfulness, discord and missed opportunities. What was even the point? She could never live up to her family legacy.

The other was a child of war, destruction, conquest, bloodlust, and more. She was supposed to be good at war, to drive legions of soldiers to victory and crush her enemies underfoot. But her life was the inverse. Over and over, she was destroyed, tricked, betrayed, broken, injured, and vanquished by her enemies. All she did was let people down. All she did was disappoint.

This is the story of two children fighting wars on every front.

Reminder that, since this a fanfic, I don't own the original content. The rights for the Heroes of Olympus series obviously go to Rick Riordan.
