Chapter 4

Samara woke up quickly. It was dark outside and the lights in the bedroom were out. She sat up feeling sick. She stumbled out of bed as she went into the bathroom. She stood there at the sink with her hands on the ledge for a few minutes waiting for the nausea to go away. 

Santodes woke up and saw that she wasn't next to him. He got up, pull on some shorts and went into the bathroom to check on her. He walked over to her and put his hands on her shoulders. 

"You ok my love?"

"I'm fine.. just feeling a bit sick.."

He rubs her shoulders. 

"Want me to get you anything?"

"yes please.. I have some nausea meds in the medicine cabinet.."

He went over to the medicine cabinet, grabbed the nausea meds and gave them to her. She opened the bottle, took out a pill then got some water from the faucet and took it. She gave him back the bottle and he put it back.

"Thank you.."

"No problem my love."

She looks over at him, and he walked over to her then kissed her forehead. She smiled softly and wrapped her arms around him. He put his arms around her as well. Then he picked her up and carried her back to the bed then called for her maid to bring them some food. 

A few minutes later her maid knocked on the door and brought in food for the both of them. She walked over to the bed and set it down then bowed.

"Enjoy your meal and I will be back soon to take the dishes for you my lady and sir."

Santodes nodded at her and she left. She sat up slightly and ate some of the food. He ate his food as well. After she finished her food she laid back against her pillows, with her hands laid on her stomach. He looks at her. 

"Are you ok Samara?"

She looks over to him.

"I feel strange.."

"How so?-"

"My body doesn't feel right to me.. It's not like the other times.."

"Do you have a doctor you can see that can possibly tell you what might be wrong?"

"I have my friend.. she is a doctor.."

"Then lets go see her."

"Alright.."

She got up and pulled on some clothes. He got up as well and got dressed. The maid came into the room and took the dishes. Santodes told the maid that they would be leaving for a little while and that they would be back soon. She nodded at him and took the dishes to the kitchen. 

He helped Samara outside to the car and opened the passenger side door for her so she could get in. She buckled in and he got in on the driver side. She handed him the keys for the car and he started it then drove off. She gave him the instructions on where to go then a while later fell asleep in the passenger seat. When they arrived he picked her up bridal style out of the car and went to the door. 

He knocked, a young looking woman answered the door.

"Who are you?"

"My name is Santodes."

"Oh the prince of the Shadow realm."

"Yes."

"What can I do to help you today sire?"

"Samara is not feeling well and I don't know what to do. She said you are the only doctor for our kind around here."

"Yes I am, so bring her inside and I can see what I can do. Oh and  by the way my name is Sissy."

"Thank you Sissy."

She opens the door all the way and he brings Samara inside. He lays her on the couch and Sissy cast a spell on Samara. Santodes sat back and watched. A moment later she looks over to him. 

"She is with a child."

Santodes sits there stunned for a moment. 

"Are you sure?"

"I am positive sire. I would never lie."

He sits there for a moment then looks over to Samara as she laid there on the couch asleep. He smiled a bit then got up and kissed her head. He looked over to Sissy. 

"So what will happen to her?"

"Her body will change and so will her emotions, I suggest being helpful to her when she needs it and give her space when she asks."

"Ok.."

"Don't worry about it too much ok? If anything happens just call me alright?"

"Alright."

Sissy covers her up with a blanket. 

"Let her sleep for now and I will make you some tea."

"Thank you again."

"It's no problem at all sire."

She goes to the kitchen and make some tea. She brings him a cup and he drinks some. About an hour later Samara wakes up. Santodes looks over to her and smiles. 

"Hey love, did you sleep well?"

She sits up slightly and rubs her eye.

"Yeah.."

"That's good to hear."

Sissy leans on the back of the couch and looks over at her. 

"Want to know why you don't feel right Mara?"

Samara looks over to her.

"It's not anything bad, is it?"

"I promise you that it is nothing bad."

"Ok then, what is wrong with my body?" 

"You are going to have a baby."

Samara looks at her.

"Really??"

"Yes, Santodes even made me double and triple check to make sure."

Santodes gets up and kneels on the floor next to Samara as she sat there on the couch. He took her hand in his and she looked at him. He pulled a small black box out of his pocket, opened it and placed it in her hand. She looked him in the eyes and he looked back into hers.

"Princess Samara Kahr of the Crystalline Realm, do you accept my offer as prince Santodes Malinovka of the Shadow Realm to be my empress?"

Tears filled her eyes then she got up and hugged him tightly.

"Yes, I accept you offer."

He smiled and hugged her back tightly. Sissy stood there and smiled.

"You two are perfect for each other, I've known it since the first day you two met each other all those years ago."

They both look at her. She smiles a bit.

"I will give you two a moment alone." 

Santodes looked at Samara then she looked back at him. She put her hand on his cheek and kissed him. He kissed her back and held her close.
