The Fight

Please excuse my lack of vocabulary :) I'm trying my best.
Oh, by the way.. Claire is the name of Darren's girlfriend in the fanfic.

It was 5 am on a Saturday morning when Chris' phone rang. He woke up, a little worried because, who calls you at 5 am?

It was his best friend Darren at the other side of the line. He answered.
"Darren?" Chris asked with an adorable sleepy voice.
"Yeah, hi.. Can you come to the park near my place?"
"Are you insane? It's 5 am Darren, I am very tired from last night." Chris answered, making Will wake up, give Chris a confused look and continue sleeping.

"Please Chris, I got into a fight with Claire, and I'm really sad."
"Ugh, fine.. I'll be there in 10."and with this, he grabbed a coat and got out of the house with silent steps, so he wouldn't wake up his boyfriend.

15 minutes later, he was arriving at the park. He waved at Darren, who was sitting at a bench with an overwhelmed look.
"Hey.. You look awful" Chris said with a little smirk
"Thanks for helping" Darren said with a sarcastic tone, giving Chris a quick glance.
"I brought you coffee, your favorite one" Chris said with a comforting smile, handing him the coffee.

He was extremely happy because of the fight.. He loved Darren since last year, but he didn't have the guts to tell him, because first, Darren was straight, with a girlfriend and second, he had a boyfriend.

"Oh, thanks.. It is great to have a friend like you on a moment like this, you know." Darren said with the lovely smile.

Chris felt a little sad by hearing this, knowing he didn't have a chance with Darren.

"Thanks.. Now, do you wanted to talk?"
"Um, well.. I got into this fight with Claire, 2 hours ago because she thinks you and I have something.." Darren said, avoiding eye contact.

Chris blushed by hearing this, but gladly, Darren didn't notice.

"What? That doesn't make sense, we're just best friends.. I have Will and you have.. her, plus you're straight." Chris shrugged
"I know, but she is convinced about that.." Darren told him, with an angry expression.
"Don't worry, I'll talk to her" Chris said, regretting it a second later.
"You don't have to.."
"Yes I do" Chris interrupted "because you need to be happy and she has to understand that there's nothing going on between us."

Darren was impressed, Chris looked so.. Angry, maybe even jealous, but he didn't understand why, and he was not going to ask.
"Okay then.. Thanks a lot."
