Uzumaki and Uchiha: Journey of Love

Part 10

It had been two weeks since the bell test. Team 7 had been doing nothing but D-ranked missions and the only thing a bit useful that they had done was the little training in between the missions that they had done. A certain little Uchiha girl had enough of the easy work. Their talents were being wasted on picking weeds, helping with laundry, or trying to find lost pets. That might have been fine for the rest of the team, but for Sasuki, it was a disgrace. Especially the catching Tora the cat mission.

"Let me go Naruto! That idiotic cat have to be dead for every genin generation's sake!"

"Calm down Sasuki. Although I understand your feeling, we can't kill her as she is the pet that Fire Damiyo's wife loves so much and we won't want to get themselves into some trouble with him." Naruto remarked while he was trying to keep the raven haired girl, whose face was covered in scratch marks, from barbecuing the cat by her fire jutsus.

"Ribbon on its left ear...are you sure it's Tora?" Kakashi questioned. Sasuki glared at the little beast, disliking how cozy it looked in Shino's arms.

"Yeah, we're sure."

"Good, lost pet 'Tora' mission complete!" Kakashi giggled as Tora continued to purr loudly and rub herself all over the Aburame's hand when he stroked her.

"That's not an animal, that's a demon." Sasuki still had the bitter memories of the first time they went after that wretched cat. She could still feel the pain from the scratches it gave her face.

On the way to come back the Hokage Tower, Naruto and Kakashi were between Shino and Sasuki...for the cat's safety as the Uchiha girl didn't stop shooting her dirty glare and snarling at Tora.

"Well, I see you managed to bring back Tora...again." The Sandaime said.

"Hopefully for the last time..." Sasuki growled.

They handed the cat over to the owner, who happen to be the Fire Daimyo's wife, as she started to squeeze it to nearly to death, the trio did felt sorry for the cat, but that didn't stop the Uchiha girl from letting out an evil grin after all the hell it caused them, especially her pretty face.

Naruto and Kakashi sweat-dropped when they saw her expression.

Once the Lady left with the suffering cat, the Sandaime began to look at the mission scroll. "Well, you three have completed missions at an amazing rate, especially Naruto with the use of his shadow clone plan. Thanks to it, D-Rank missions have gone down drastically in Konoha." He said and the said boy give a big toothy smile while scratching the back of his head. "Alright, we have prepared your list of D-rank missions for today." He wasn't surprised to see the Uchiha girl get a sour expression.

"We are tired of these useless D-ranks, they are wasting our time and abilities! Give us a real mission where we can actually get some experience." Sasuki huffed in an annoyed tone, Iruka stood up to reprimand her.

"Sasuki, you are just barely graduated ninja from the academy! You aren't ready for combat yet, that's why we give you D-ranks to gather experience." Before Sasuki could protest, Naruto stood next to his best friend and placed a hand to her shoulder to calm her down.

The blond boy looked the Hokage and his former teacher, "Jiji, Iruka-sensei, giving a genin team lots of D-rank missions are not helping their skills improve and so we would like to request a mission that would challenge us and help with our ninja training." He said calmly. "In addition, we have Kakashi-sensei, after all he isn't a elite jounin for nothing." Naruto said and which shocked everyone.

Kakashi was so happy when his favorite student placed his truth in him. 'Thank you, Naruto. I'm sure I will not disappoint you and your teammates.'
