"Sister Lenora!" I heard the familiar sweet and kind voice. "Sister Lenora!"

I, who was in the kitchen helping Pepper with her dough, turn and wipe the white powder from my hands into the dull gray apron wrapped around my habit (my nun's uniform). I look up to see a panting girl with the same attire as mine. While she was gasping for air, I could see the blonde hair picking out of her habit.

"How are you Sister Mary Eunice?" I ask her.

"Im good." She said. The silence continued, it was a sharp oddness in which I would love to cut even with a knife.

"So what brought you here sister?" I ask her cutting the time lapse of silence.

"Oh right, Sister Jude wants to see you." She said.

I tie off my apron and fold it neatly. I look to the side to see Sister Angeline.

"Sister, may you take this back with the others?" I ask her.

"Of course Sister Lenora." She said.

I turn to the panting blonde. "Very well, best be on my way." I nod to her and walk out of the kitchen into the halls.

The halls were gloomy and gray as always. When I reach the main hall, which was a circular room with a statue of Virgin Mary and flights of stairs taking you to different rooms. I remember that Sister Jude called the stairs the Stairways to Heaven. I hear the moaning from the patients. Some crying, some screaming, others begging for mercy.

So, up the stairs I went to the very top until I reached Sister Jude's office and the knocked.

"Come in." She said.

I entered the room to see the guard struggling with a patient I remembered as Shelley.

"Hello Sister Jude." I said politely nodding towards her slightly. "What can I do for your service?"

"Can you calm down Shelly?" She said snappily and frustrated. I only nodded. I didn't know what fate she was gonna face, or what she did to 'deserve' punishment but, I had to do it.

"Of course." I said.

You see, I have a certain something, they say. To calm a soul and bring peace into their minds.

I went over and put my hands on her shoulder as she tried to go against the guards or seduce them.

"Shelley, calm down sweetie." I said quietly. "Everything's going to be alright now."

She started to calm down. "Don't let them hurt me."

"It's okay." I said sadly. "Now, let's just sit down, and relax."

She finally calmed down and sat on the chair in the middle of the room.

"Good." Sister Jude said. "So Shelly-"

"Also, sorry for the interruption." I said and stop for permission.

She nods to me to continue.

"The reporter will be here soon." I said to her. "She was gonna do the interview on the bakery."

"Thank you for reminding me but I already knew." She said. "Now, Shelly. Your attempts to seduce the men here to pleasure yourself are disgusting, and you will go punish." She took a barber mantle and put it around her. I slightly gasped. She was gonna cut Shelly's hair.
