chapter 9: the spies.

the week of dabi watching me finally ended, and shigaraki came to the conclusion that i am not going behind their back, obviously. hawks and i barely talk nor do we see each other, i lowkey think he forgot about me but i don't really care.

today, shigaraki assigned me, toga and dabi an assignment; it's a small assignment that will help the league reign victorious once we go for all might.

"i've decided you three are extremely powerful together due to your quirks. hypnotia, you can manipulate. toga, you can blend in. dabi, you can fight." shigaraki explains to the three of us.

"the plan is simple. as we all know, the school is having their annual sports festival in a couple weeks time and i want you to see who may be an asset to the team."

"those goodie-too-shoes will never join us and you know that." toga blurts out, "i do, but that's why you are here. you can shift into a student and get their quirk but if that fails, hypnotia will use her quirk." shigaraki explains.

"why are we looking at the students? don't you think it should be the teachers?" i ask out of curiously, dabi and toga share a smirk since they know something.

"before you were recruited, the league managed to get every teacher's blood drawn. this way we have ALL the access to their quirks through toga's quirk." dabi answer, shigaraki nods his head.

the preparation is very thought out and strategized... so this way UA will have no idea what is coming. we are undetectable and unpredictable... i like that, we have the upper hand.

shigaraki gives us a booklet with timetables of the students who are taking part in the sports festival. it has their times of practice and the days they have it on so we have time to prepare on who we are going to watch next.

a familiar name catches my eye in the booklet and i read their schedule, carefully. shinso is taking part in this festival, i can finally see him but he won't see me.

no matter how bad i am or how much of a criminal i am, shinso will always be by my side and he will always see the good in me.

"that's your assignment, up until the sports festival. anything that may be or is essential, you need to write it down and report it back to me or else the main plan will fail." shigaraki concludes.

"it won't fail, boss." toga reassures him, "no matter how small the mistake is in the foundation, it will affect the outcome of the result." shigaraki groans and walks away.

as he walks away, the three of us turn to face each other. we all take a seat at the table and make a plan for today on who we're going watch and evaluate.

we agree on a plan and head to the car. it was 11 in the morning but it was okay since we have a structured plan. luckily for toga, midoriya AKA deku has training to do, so we all agreed for her to watch him then todoroki.

i have tokoyami + momo and dabi has shoji + mineta. me and dabi sit at the front and toga sits at the back seat, "don't wake me up until we are at UA." toga explains after putting on her seatbelt, she rests her head in her arm which was leaning on the window, and falls asleep.

the car drive starts and it is silent but it is to be expected since it's the morning. dabi and i exchange unintentional glares at each other through the rear view mirror.

i look up at the mirror and already see dabi's eyes joined with mine, i look away with a grin on my face enjoying the small game we are having in the car.
