Derek's POV
It's our weekend off and I get to spend more time with my family. I was asleep when I felt someone tapping on me
"Daddy" Lanna says
I sat up and looked at her she didn't look so good
"Hey what's wrong" I ask her and she climbed up on the bed and sits on my lap and lays her head on my chest
"Daddy I don't feel good" she says sniffing
"Oh princess" I say wrapping my arms around her
And Hour Later we were both asleep until someone got in a coughing fit I thought it was Lanna but it was Tara.
When she was finished she turned facing me and I looked down to see Lanna scoot closer to her mother and Tara wrapped her arms around her I smiled then I looked at the clock and it was 6:00 am in the morning so I decided to get something to make them feel better.
Tara's POV
I bursted in a coughing fit and to tell ya my throat hurts like hell it feels like someone is running a knife down my throat. I was asleep until I heard someone sneeze and I woke up but I didn't see Derek but I looked down to see Lanna close up on me looking at me
"Mommy" she says
"Yeah baby" I say
She gets up and wraps her arm around my neck and lays her head on my shoulder and I wrap my arms around her
"I don't feel good" she says sniffing
"Oh sweetie" I say kissing her head
"Let me get the thermometer to check your temperature okay" I say
"Okay" she says and wraps the covers around her
"Are you cold" I ask
She shakes her head yes
So I got up and I felt dizzy a little but I got my vision straight. So I was walked in the bathroom and grabbed the thermometer and then I had the urge to throw up so I did. I looked up from the toilet to see Lanna standing there looking at me and she came to me
"Mommy are you ok" she asks
"Yeah I'm okay can you go downstairs and see if your Daddy is down there" I ask and she shakes her head yes and leaves
I get up brush my teeth then I take a shower and get ready for the day. I walked out the bathroom and sat on the bed and took three deep breaths then I went to check on Dj. I walked out the room and head down the hallway and I see Derek coming up with a clingy Lanna
"Hey how are you feeling" he says and I look at him confused
"I beg your pardon" I say
"Aren't you sick" he says looking confused
"No" I say checking to see that Dj is asleep then I went downstairs with Derek behind me
"Baby you got into a coughing fit this morning" he says
"That was nothing" I say starting to make me coffee then I started to make Lanna some soup
"Tara" he says and I ignore him
"Tara Elizabeth Lewis" he says and I look at him
"How dare you say my whole name like that" she says taking out Lanna a bowl
"Well because your stubborn and second you don't like to admit that your sick" he says
"I'm not sick for the last time" I say
"Okay" he says then he goes into the living room with Lanna and the soup was finished so I put it in the bowl and gave it to Derek and that's when Dj made his presence known
"I'll go get him" I say heading upstairs to his room
"Hey there buddy" I say bouncing him and he looks at me and smiles
So I head downstairs and Derek was watching TV with a sleeping Lanna attached to him so I went to the kitchen and made Dj a bottle and I wiped my forehead because it was sweating. I was hot and I felt like I was burning up. So I made his bottle went to the living room put him in his swing and then I looked at Derek
"Want me to get her" I ask
"Yes I need to go use the restroom I been holding it because she wouldn't let me go" he says and I laugh
"Not funny" he says
Then I leaned down and tried to pick Lanna up but she held tighter to Derek
"Lanna bug" I say and she wakes up the holds her arms out to me and I pick her up so Derek can get up then I sat down and Lanna laid on my chest and fell back to sleep.
I was hot and tired so I decided to go to sleep.
Derek's POV
I walked back downstairs see both Lanna and Tara asleep and Dj was blabbing to himself playing with his foots
"Bored huh" I say to him and he gurgles a little and smiles
Then I looked over to see Tara sweating. So I grabbed the thermometer that you hold to your head and I checked her temperature
105° degrees
Damn that's high
Then I check Lanna's
103° degrees
So I woke Tara up
"Tara" I say shaking her and she stirred a little
"Hmm" she says and I remove Lanna from her chest and head upstairs and put Lanna down then I come back downstairs to not see Tara in the living room anymore until I heard her in the downstairs bathroom throwing up so I run to the bathroom and hold her hair until she is finished. She was finally finished and she leaned back against me
"Damn I feel like shit" she says and I laugh
"Not funny" she says coughing
"I knew you were sick can you just stop being stubborn for once" I ask her
"Ugg I hate you" she says slapping my chest and trying to get up
"Need some help" I ask her smiling
"No shit sherlock" she says and I laugh and when I helped her up I picked her up bridal style
"What are you doing" she ask laying her head on my shoulder
"Taking you upstairs" I tell her
"No put me in the living room" she says
"It's not comfortable" I tell her and she looks at me
"Oh yes it will be" she says smiling
So I brought her back to the living room and I was about to lay her down until she wrapped her arms around my neck
"Come on Tara really" I tell her
"Nope I'm serious" she says
So I sit down on the sofa and she lays her head on my chest and wrap her arms around my waist
"Your such a big baby" I say to her but she didn't respond so I looked down to see her fast asleep and I laughed to myself
This was going to be one hell of a day
