Sunday had rolled around fast, meaning Louis could enjoy his day off at home, cuddled up in his bed with a tub of ice cream, while skimming through movie after movie.
He wasn't actually planing on spending his entire day like this, but one thing had quickly led to another, and now he laid here, buried under blankets and pillows, enjoying his favourite kind of sweet treat, while his mind was caught up in a different, fictional universe. He just couldn't help it.And as he watched anxiously, nibbling on his ice cream, a sudden noise sounded through the room, causing Louis to snap back into reality and out of his fantasy dream scenario. It was his phone, which lay somewhere buried under the covers, ringing with a muffled sound.
Louis carelessly and somewhat annoyed felt around for it, soon finding his phone and pulling it out from under the piled up blankets. He noticed a number light up on the screen, but he didn't recognize it. Who would be calling him around this time anyways, because surely, it was already too late for his friends or family to ring him.
A little perplexed and somewhat unsure, he muted the TV, scrunching his face, wondering who it may be, before finally accepting the call. And as soon as he did, an all too familiar voice spoke up. Shaky and breathy, but deep and tenderly, just like Louis had come to know it.
,,Hi, Louis? It's Harry. I read some pages of the book and stumbled across your number. So I took it as a sign to call you." The man spoke. It was easy to imagine him grinning, even though Louis couldn't see him.
The man exhaled slightly, pausing for a short while.
,,I also found out what the flower symbolizes. You know. The magenta Lilac you gave me."Those words came unexpected and upon hearing them, Louis grew slightly embarrassed. Like he got caught doing something he shouldn't have done. Involuntarily, he bit his pointer finger, nervous to keep listening, because he feared what other words may follow.
,,...And I honestly feel the same. So would you mind..."
He squinched his eyes tightly, hoping what he was hearing was a real confession and not just a fragment of his mind playing tricks on him.
,,...Would you mind going on a date with me?"
He could have squealed in excitement. He could have jumped around like a child, but instead, he tried to keep his calm, laying his hand over his head, hoping he wouldn't get too flustered from all the feelings that were welling up within his heart.
,,I'd love to." He carefully replied. A huge, irrepressible smile laying on his lips as he said those words.
His stomach was filled to the brim with butterflies and his skin began to tingle as warm waves of joy streamed down his body.
His hands were shaking from the slight adrenaline rush. And maybe the sugar from his ice cream. But most importantly, he was happy. In the end, it was a good decision to leave his number in the book. Because who knows. If he would not have had the courage to note it down, then maybe he would have missed out on a love that was greater than he had ever imagined one before.
