Buoyant

Sayuri was drifting father out to sea. She didn't really like water before, but now, she is terrified of it. She screams and starts crying "Someone please help me. I'm stuck at sea. Please help. I don't like the water. Ahhhhh!" She was being pelted with rain and splashed by the waves. She curled into a ball to try to protect herself against the weather. She starts to sob into her knees. "Cecil, Ittoki, Tokiya, Ren, Syo, Natsuki, Masato, and Nanami. If I don't make it, muses, please protect these people. They mean the world to me."

Meanwhile, Cecil is sinking into the sand on his knees. He starts to sob. "Sayuri!" He screams. Syo started screaming "Sayuri! Don't worry! We are comming for you!" Natsuki was pacing, trying to figure out how to get her back. Ittoki just stood there, unable to find her among the waves. It was starting to storm and the waves were getting rough. Nanami was about to call 911, when Masato ran for the motar boat. He set it in the water and (with help from Tokiya and Ren) he got it into the water. Masato was racing to catch up with a half-drowned Sayuri. When they get close enough to her, Tokiya reaches out his hand. Sayuri clings on to this for her life. He lifts her out of the water and sets her down in the boat. She was shaking and about to cry again. Ren put a blanket on her to stop the shaking. She smiles up at them and shakily says "Thanks. I was so scared." The boat took them back to shore, where a chorus of cheers went up from everyone. Sayuri started to cough up sea water. Sayuri lay down on the sand and said "Thank you. Can I sleep for a little bit? I'm suddenly tired." Natsuki picks her up and caries her to her room, shared with Nanami. Nanami opens it up and everyone finds compositions scattered everywhere. Natsuki sets Sayuri down on her bed that's covered with a tarp. "She's all dirty. She will thank us for keeping her bed clean. Now, Nanami. Explain all of these papers everywhere." Tokiya says. "Well... Sayuri and I were writing songs together. When I write with her in the room, the song ideas flow naturally. I made at least 35 songs with her." Nanami said. "That many?!" Ittoki said. "Wow!" Syo said. Cecil is sitting at Sayuri's side. Tokiya walks up and says to Cecil "She will be ok. Don't worry. She won't like having you worry about her." "I know that but... she was swimming in the sea to try to impress me. It's my fault that she drifted away." Cecil said. "No, it's not your fault. She chose to swim in the sea." Masato said. Syo says "Don't feel guilty. I agree, she chose to swim." "Be happy. We saved her and she is fine." Natsuki commented. Tokiya asked "Do you think she will swim again? What caused her to be afraid of the water in the first place." Suddenly they hear "I'm so scared. Father, stop. I don't like the water. Stop trying to drown me." Sayuri said faintly. "She talks in her sleep?" Natsuki asks. Cecil said out loud "Apparently, she does." "Why can't I go play with the other kids? I'm the only one who can't go outside. Why? Brother can go play?" Sayuri said. "She probaly hasn't seen another 6 year old before." Ren said. Ittoki jumps up and says "Hey, why don't we take her to the school? Their are plenty of six year olds there. Maybe she can make a friend." "I would like that." Sayuri said, sitting up. Everyone turned to her. "Can I go?" "Of course you can." Ittoki said.

Once they were back from vacation, Ittoki, Nanami, and Sayuri went to the school. When the kids saw Ittoki, the ran over to him. They jumped on him. One kid saw Nanami and giggled. Ittoki silences the kids and says "This is Sayuri. She is your age. She can't see, but she can hear you. Please be friends with her." The children were delighted that they had a new friend to play with. One kid pulled her along as they played tag. Sayuri was quick and light on her feet. She could tell exactly where everyone was. "She is so much like Cecil, kind and caring. She is kinda like you, Ittoki." Ittoki smiled and looked at the children playing together. It releves him of his sadness and regret. He gets up and starts to run around as the monster, saying "I'm going to get you!" in his monster voice. Nanami laughed at this, and joined in as well.
