Chapter 4: Where Is She?

I'm standing their scared. Anxious and scared. But also confused how a psychopath found my home phone number and my place of work, what else has he found out about me? He's been locked up for five years, there's no way he could've found this imformation from prision unless he had someone help him out. My barin starts to then panic as I'm standing motionless. I can feel fear taking over my body as all these thoughts begin to race my mind. If he's got all of this imformation about me, then Crystal and I won't ever be safe unless we go into wintess protection or he's dead. Those are the only options.
Seeing Harold walking over to us is relieving to me but how much longer can this go on for?

"I got here as fast as I could, is there somewhere we could speak privately?" Harold asks entering the building

I gesture him to follow me and Jennifer to the break room where we begin to explain to him what happened. I could tell that he was frustrated by all of this, not cause of me but by the fact that Joseph is out free for some reason and now he's playing cat and mouse with us all at this point. "Did you see any of this happen Jenn?" Harold asks

"No, I was gone at my daughter's doctors appoitment and I had asked Danny to cover my shift too. When she called I called my husband to meet me at the doctors office and I came back here. I know things have been rough for the past five years too. Show him what he left behind Danny" Jennifer said, motioning me to pull out the ziploc bag

"Like I said, he paid for the coffee in cash, I picked it up after I watched him leave the property and picked up the cash with a napkin incase we could get his prints off of it" I had the bag over to Harold

"I'll have June see if she can get any prints off of it and I talked to the state prison, apperently there was a security breach and he got ahold of private information, we don't know how but we think one of the guards in there helped him breach the system so the state is investigating them. As of now though, you're obviously not safe right now so we're getting a place set up for you and everyone else to relocate. I'll have June meet us back at your place and I'll be right behind your car"

"But what does he want from me? Beating me up, killing my parents infront of me and Max and then making me watch him kill Max afterwards, what kind of sick fuck is he?!" I shout out with tears streaming down my face

"We still have no idea what his motives are, he's kept his silence since the day one, maybe its a secret he'll take to the grave or its something you know but have to find out, we have no idea but I won't give up until we lock him up and throw away the key!" Harold responded holding my hands and going in for a hug, "it'll be okay Danny, I promise you, you have my word. You right now are my main priority and I won't let you down".

"Thank you, I appriciate you doing all of this for me, I have to call Crystal's school and let them know what's going on and get some school work ready for when I pick her up".

I stand up and give Harold another hug before walking over to the doorway of the breakroom and called Crystal's school. I could tell they didn't like the idea of her missing school but she's five, how much school could she miss out on? She's in kindergarten, this is stuff I could easily teach her. After getting off the phone with the school, I get whatever stuff I have with me at work and head over to get Crystal to go home and pack. As I'm heading over, I begin to over think everything that's just happened and my brain just shuts down; I have no idea what I'm even doing. I know I'm going to get my baby sister but for the reason though, it still hasn't fully processed in my brain about what's going on.

I get to my sister's school and check in at the front Office. I sign in and go to check her out and take her home. But then I stand there completely frozen
